As I sit and ponder in front of this screen
I often wonder about all my friends unseen
Their voices are silent yet so full of sound
The words keep on flowing on keyboards we pound
The fonts and the colors give life to those words
Phrazes that reach out so clearly are heard
The pain and the laughter the joy and the tears
They echo on after those words disappear
Emotions that reach out and touch way down deep
Trapped within windows our hungry eyes reap
Great distances traveled without 1 mere step
A world full of wonder yet saddly I wept
To feel the Hearts reaching in hopes of escape
Realities torture in truth one must wake
The minds eye the master it paints out its scenes
As brilliant as rainbows in wondrous dreams
Alas my time closes reallity calls
The life that I'm living outside these 4 walls

Marc A. Obviously, you have a good handle on the written word, and experience writing prose. You also have a careful selection of words and I must say; your poetry has made me stand up and take notice.
Could you share with me some of your history? How long have you been writing? Your age, and published history?
I am curious because I am searching for people on this board that write poetry, to talk with, learn from and collaberate with. (More on a hobby level, though!)
I am 25, and have been reading since the age of four and writing poetry since I was five. Having a birthday in December, I was always the youngest in the class, yet always the one to write poetry books, try to publish at the library or enter contests. I have won first place in several contests, published many times, but now as an adult, I face a wall.
I need to learn more about writing, and have done some self-teaching through books and the internet. I find learning from others and speaking with others who share your interest is always the best way to learn, though.
Please write back,
Carina

I did further my education somewhat while in the army many years ago, but it wasn't in the area of writing. That part has always come rather naturally. I am 39, and the world calls me divorced though I still hold to my vows. I have been alone now for some 2+ years and whenever I have sit down to write, the words just seem to flow. My grandfather was one of nations top news reporters & Editors in San Francisco, as well as D.C. Other reletives back in time have been published in a wide range of subjects. My dad (bless his heart) is a wonderful writer at "78", and is looking to publish his first collection of short-stories, "Chronicles of an Itinerant" He has some over 350 stories thus far. What limmited bits of writings I have done, have usually come together within 15 or 20 minutes lol .. It's luvly to look back on the joy I trully get when writing. It's amazing the feeling one gets when putting thoughts to words. No wonder experts say to journal. Thank you for the kind words, they have been an encouragement to me. Feel free to write me at my e-mail addy, and when time allows I would luv to share more on this compelling subject.
Blessings to you and yours,
Marc
Ps. My home page is where I hang from time to time.
------------------
Tçh؃§îlvr~Jonah2001™
[This message has been edited by Tçh؃§îlvr (edited April 08, 2001).]
