The Day is Long……<P>The day is long, just like the night<BR>We hit our highs, like birds in flight.<BR>We seek the truth, no matter the cost<BR>We want some answers, we feel so lost<P>We try to move on, we take things slow<BR>All the while, we slip so low.<BR>The smiles come, as do the tears<BR>We find ourselves, we battle our fears<P>Some days are good, others are bad<BR>We search for something, or the dreams we had.<BR>We feel so alone, like a single leaf on a tree<BR>Looking for salvation, asking why me?<P>We are offered support, we seek out a friend<BR>We want a resolution, we want this to end.<BR>The tears are cleansing, there’s nothing so real<BR>They do little to comfort, the pain that we feel.<P>The sun comes up, it shines so bright<BR>We take a deep breath, we beat another night.<BR>Good things will happen, today is the day<BR>At least as a thought, we want it that way.<P>Our attitude changes, we feel so alive<BR>Soaring ever higher, unaltered we strive.<BR>The world is before us, beckoning us in<BR>And that’s when it happens, the tears come again.<BR>
