The Nurturing Light
You are the sun shining brightly upon me.
The light that provides warmth and nurtures me
I awake each morning knowing that you are always there.
The mornings grow cloudy but I can still see you.
There have been cloudy days before.
The clouds grow thick now and the days grow colder.
It has been so long since I have felt your warmth and seen your light.
Darkness begins to envelope me as I begin to grow cold and alone with each passing day.
The days begin to blur together and I begin to forget who and where I am.
All around are only shadows of the past.
My strength begins to fade as my source of warmth, that nurturing light are hidden by the ever increasing cloud cover.
I try to break through the darkness but it eludes my reach.
The sadness cuts deep to my soul as I don't know how to restore the light.
I can only wait and pray that you come out from behind the clouds and once again restore my strength.
Orlando Sanchez
