The Egg

Oval shaped clean and nice
Feel the texture cold as ice
White as snow, round and firm
Spin it round, watch it turn
Pick it up, feel its weight
Much much heavier as of late
Heat it up to modify
Becoming firm, solidified
But keep it cool, keep it close
And it goes well with breaded toast
Very fragile, very brittle
To crack it once just a little
Its hard to mend but can be done
From two pieces back to one
Left alone it will spoil
Turn up the heat and it will boil
This egg you see is not by chance
Its come upon a circumstance
Do not let go, or watch it fall
For on the ground is worst of all
What started out as clean and pleasant
Would be a mess, would be a lesson
Wish not to learn of such a thing
I know to well what things can bring
So hold this egg inside your cloak
This eggs my heart, these words the yolk…
