There is a place upon a hill of crossing railroad tracks
Where on lies my hopes in life of fortunes that I lack
The box stays still in gentle breeze that sways the nearby grass
I stare awhile and force a smile knowing this time is my last
You see the box that holds my hopes sits perfectly inline
On the crossing railroad tracks nearby the crossroads sign
I know it seems so simple though, I should just move the box
The problem that arises is I can’t seem to break these locks
There is one thing I haven’t told, not easily explained
I can’t move my arms or legs from the cross to which they’re chained
Now I hear the trains draw close and see the smoke filled sky
I whisper to the Lord for help yet muffled is my cry
So I see my hell approach, my ending in my love
As I watch this rainbow fade you’re all I’m thinking of
All along these dreams at night of calling you my own
Were but deceptive fantasies of nights I’ll spend alone
Now the trains collide head on, my sacred box they crushed
The fire fades, the siren drowns, all noise is slowly hushed
Here I sit alone again, my cross without the chains
Free to move my arms and legs yet not free from past stains
I reminisce of days gone by, regrets now seen untrusting
And all I see, yes all I feel, is now I’m left with nothing

Thanks lost. I appreciate the compliment. I wish I never felt the emotions that led to this poem, but I'm still hoping.

I am new to this site but feel I could gain from it, not sure I understand how it all works.. One of my largest emotional releases is my poetry, would enjoy the opportunity to share it and get some feel back, feeling a little lost these days, searching...

Thor…

Sense it, feel it, see it, hear it
Touch it – no ! Possible?
Is it real then? How
Would you want too? Why?

Do you even know what it is?
Returns: Hateful : Blissful
The definition passed in a book
Who crafted the book?
Where did that right come from?

Abyss of Mystery
Happy: Sad: Smile: Frown
Fear : Challenge: Win : Loss
Who says?
The book of life?

The night is not always dark
The day is not always light
The day does not disappear
- It is hidden by the night
- The night does not disappear
- It is hidden by the day
- Mysteriously : It returns
- It keeps returning !

Sam
