I let the breeze dry my eyes,
And lift my soul to the skies.
Mend my heart, mend my mind.
I glimpse the sun, and squint to blind
the same pain I feel, when her eyes I find.

Thank you for your reply Epiphony. I wrote the poem on a summer dawn this past July. I had just learned of my wife's affair and was devastated. I stood on the shore of Lake Somerville alone. The breeze seemed to dry my tears and help me to feel that god had something else planned for me. The setting sun reminded me of my wife that I still loved -- beautiful, yet painful to place my eyes on. I am not much of a poet, but it is helpful to express yourself instead of letting the pain eat you from the inside. Actually, I enjoy playing guitar and singing tunes more than writing poetry. If you are interested, feel free to listen to some of my amateur recordings at http://www.webwolves.org/crazz and leave a hello note on the forum so I will know that you visited.

Take care,

Chris

I re-read your poem today, and this time I saved it somewhere I could read it all the time. I also went to your site- you are a very handsome man, and you have a very beautiful family. Your wife was a fool for leaving such a sentimental, talented, good looking guy who looks like he loves his kids, and you should not forget this. I doubt you will have any trouble finding an equally beautiful woman who will actually appriciate what wonderful things you have to offer. Take care, and thanks again for posting this poem.
