I am not good at writing but sometimes the words just start to flow. I just got the divorce papers from my WW yesterday so that is what prompted this.
STTSI

Soul

My soul is empty
My soul is dry
I feel like a hollow shell
With no more life

I see a road ahead
Covered with pain and suffering
A road that goes to where
I do not know

The path has been set
It is a road I must travel
I will set my head high
And await the end of my journey

For I know when I am done
I will be a better man for what you have done
You I do not know
What your life ahead will show

I pray my soul will be restored
So I can continue down the road called life
I will be better, I will learn
Cause there is so much in life for me to earn

Well done ST!!! And you said you don't have what it takes to write poems? Now you've just proven yourself wrong. Pretty good therapy huh? They haven't disconnected my internet at work...yet so I'm still alive and kicking. Here's another poem I wrote that you might enjoy. Because of the pain we endure from relationships, it is hard not to be afraid to love again. Have a great weekend!

"I fear"

I fear not in this world the risk that I take
I am fearless indeed despite mistakes that I make
for how can one proceed without taking a leap?
you will never find out what's yours beyond reach.

But of all the things here, I fear one thing indeed
a beautiful notion like a drug in your head.
It creates a euphoria , a rush and a speed
without it in your heart, you're better off dead.

Without any warning it will strike in a flash
Can't tell what had caused it, can't tell if it'll last
Once you have it within, you'd wish it would stay
You'd do anything possible, to make it that way.

So how could I fear such a beautiful thing?
When it gives such a life and creates those wings?
When you feel you could fly and can soar up above
O indeed I fear this, this great thing called love.

For it is known to man that this same thing defies
the joys and the dreams, the hope in those eyes.
I fear in a dash it'll leave just as fast
without warning it's gone, it was too good to last.

I fear my own silence when this thing had subside
and I find myself there without love by my side
I fear pain that would sting just as strong as before
Is it worth it indeed? Say no more, say no more.

SS-Once again you have done a beautiful job!

I feel the fear that you are talking about. The only woman I have ever let close to me has ripped out my heart and thrown it in my face. My friends and family all tell me it is time to move on, to find another woman, another love. My heart is torn in two, I yearn to be held again but I am afraid of getting close to anyone. This may be the start of something. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

Here is another that I wrote several weeks ago when I thought it could be saved, what do you think?

Why Can’t We Try

Love is a gift to be cherished
Love is a gift to be shared
We had it once
Why not try?

Trust is an honor not to be broken
Trust is respect not to be lost
We had it once
Why not try?

Marriage is a vow
Between two people
A vow for life
A vow forever
We made that vow once
Why not try?

We all make mistakes
We all flounder through life
My marriage is important
Why not try?
Why can’t we try?

Very nice ST! Straight to the point, it's my kind of poetry. (-: I'd like to give a small piece of advice if you may. It's about falling in love again. Please don't do it in a rush. Ever heard of the "rebound thing"? That happened to me after my first divorce. I fell head over heels, was pregnant in two months of dating and he left me 2 weeks after I told him. I have a beautiful 7 yr old son from that. I'll be 38 next month. My 1st husband cheated on me, my son's father was cheating with me and I didn't know it. So you see, I'm not a stranger to this thing called infidelity. I'm no stranger to pain. Keep me posted OK? And keep writing those poetry, they will bring comfort to your soul. Later!
