Second Chance by: Sann

A wishful thought,a second chance
Although appealing within a glance
The pain that pierced and bled one's heart
Turned it to steel that won't break apart

Forgiveness is possible if that's what it takes
But forgetting the anguish won't simply make
Our lives like nothing had happened at all
Denial will not help heal through the core

How can one bring back the golden trust?
That took a lifetime to build amass
A delicate crystal once loved and admired
But broken to pieces by one's lost desire

Time indeed will tell the end
If a second chance will help it mend
Or is it a fact a chance to start
A different path as two hearts depart.

Hi Shooting Star:

Everyone deserves a second chance; don`t you think? Your poem does not seem to resolve whether a second chance will be granted.

I enjoyed your words. Please keep writing.

My poems reflect my spur of the moment feelings. Some days i have more optimism than others. This one definitely is not one of those days. My feelings here is based on my relationship with my soon to be ex. I don't see the point for a second chance and it's not mainly because of the lack of forgiveness. I wish him the best and I will always love him as a friend. We are two people with so much differences but love by itself initially caused us to ignore the differences. So no matter how we work it out (he's not willing by the way) a square peg will never fit a circle.

SS- Your poem does not sound too uplifting. How are you doing? Keeping your head up?

Email me if you want to, I am thinking of ya. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
