Some times in the struggles of trying to make it all work I know I just feel lost. The only thing there was to pull me through was my faith in God. This poem may not say much about marriage itself, but things like this have kept me going for years.

Dear Lord it seems as time goes by that sometimes you desert us,
When simple goals seem hard to reach or things that happen hurt us.
Sometimes our fear of the unknown seems to control our life,
Our faith grows weak as fears grow strong and to the Lord we cry,
Dear Father what did I do wrong, what is this punishment for?
I don't understand; it doesnt seem I can take this anymore.
These thoughts are satan's seed, and if we let them grow,
We'll weaken more as days go by, but still God loves us so.
So we un turn must show Him love by holding to our faith
And trusting Him to pull us through whatever comes our way.

Thanks. God sent it to me. I could never sit down and just come up with something like it. He knew it was part of what I needed to get me through the ten years I spent raising two kids by myself, wondering what I had done to make my husband leave me for another woman. It took a lot of stuff like that and a very supportive church for me to make it through and be able to open up to people again; and honestly even to Him.
