I posted on the EN board, about dating and intimacy. I don't want to compromise myself or my beliefs. I am craving affection so badly. Please pray for me. My self esteem is so low and I don't want to give in to temptation. I am strong willed, but does it mean I shouldn't even date because that will put me in compromising situations??

Petrie,
Please don't do anything out of compulsion. The Word warns us about that many times. It is very hard to deal with these feelings but I would say you need to get involved with a group from your church that is commited to separated and divorced issues. Find other female friends who will support you. Here's a tip: What you are feeling is part of why you are separated. There is a lot in that statment and i will be glad to explain it later. Book: Love is a Choice, by Hemfelt, Minrith, Meier. I have just finished it. It hurts to face the truth of who we are and why we tick. But doing so will lead us to a healthy relationship with God and others. I'm sorry for everything you have to deal with. It hurts, as you know that I know. I have at least a year before i will really start to reconcile so here I sit. I am working on me though. Let me know what you think. Ted

Ted,
Thank you for your support. It is such a confusing time right now! My pastor said pretty much the same thing, about getting more involved in church & with family & friends. You are right about being afraid to face the truth about who we are. I have never minded being alone, I actually like it, but now I am truly alone, & I guess it is scary. I would love for you to elaborate on the tip you gave; What we are feeling is part of why I am separated. In addition to church, family, friends, MB is a wonderful "life line" for me.
Thanks again,
Petrie

Petrie,
The fact that you shared your "cravings" with us is a part of what is causing your separation. Does co-dependency ring any bells? Book "Love Is A Choice" by Hemfelt, Minrith and Meier. I just finished it. It's so easy to lay in bed at night and feel like your dieing. It doesn't have to be that way. These are compulsions and they are symptoms of a problem. You will be ok. You have some work to do on this but these huge tidal waves of feelings you have are not healthy. Go get the book, sit at home or grab a coffee and dive in. You will love it. God Bless you sis. We are with you !!!!!! ><> Ted
