H just left. He took our daughter to the pool. Actually spend a couple of hours w/her. Normally it's 30 min. Anyway, I noticed this morning that he left his favorite picture on the wall. It was less than a week ago that he sat in the living room telling me that picture was HIS and HE wanted it. Said he brought it to the marriage and he'll take it from the marriage. I'm trying not to get my hopes up here, but is it a good sign. He also said when he left, " Thanks for being nice to me, I like that." I need to try and stop 'figuring hi out'.
cc

Hi Cee Cee
Just stopped by briefly to respond. Thanks for the nice post on my thread. It's gotta be the George Carlin book I'm reading. I'm not trying to offend anyone here only to make the best of a bad situation, but, damn it, I'm getting real tired of feeling sorry for myself. Hey, I f**ked up, so I'll try to make the best of it.
I fully understand the seriousness of all our situations and do not mean to make light of them. Just getting sick of diarrhea, vomiting and the weight loss. I'm loosing my girlish figure. Can't attract anyone looking like this.
Anyway, for real, getting to your question. I believe that if they [the ones we're trying to get back together with and fix the marriage] leave a personal item behind it gives me the impression that they are still interested in reconsiliation and it keeps that foot in the door.
I have gone thru every room, closet, drawer, the attic, the basement, the neighbors house and crawl spaces we don't even own to box up all her stuff. There are only two items left here that are hers.
They are a tread mill and a stepper. I told her that I will personally deliver them. She says "no, that's ok there's no room here" [her parents have a big house with more than enough room for these two silly pieces of equipment] You could park a Winnebago in their living room if you were so inclined and could get it thru the front door.
I must believe that all the discussions of divorce that transpired are voided because she still wants to be part of this household. If I REALLY wanted out I would take everything that was not nailed down and even some of the stuff that was easily removed without much effort.
I also redecorated when Val left to make it MY HOME. This inclued the standard "slippery when wet" floor signs on the wall and a RED lightbar headboard. [she hated that,]
Wishing us all the best
Medic

Hey Medic-
Thanks for responding. With that sense of humor of yours, you will do fine. You make me laught everytime. Thanks for that.
Don't beat yourself up. As crappy as we might have been as spouses, it was our spouse who did the ultimate of naughties! She might try to blame this on you, but they are adults, who chose this path. We don't knowingly drive them there.
Take care. It sounds like you are. Keep smiling,it's harder for the drool to get out!
God Bless,
cc

I wish I could believe that if they leave personal items behind, it means they are interested in reconciliation. My H has taken most of his clothes, some books, and a few other things. He cleaned out his closet the other day, five months after he left. I fear it is just because of laziness and the fact that the OW might not want to clutter up her house with all the stuff we have moved all over the place many times, that he hasn't used in twenty years but wants to keep.
But if your H took everything but left a picture that he said he wanted - maybe that means something.

ceecee
Mine's doing the same (I say that a lot, don't I?) Asked me today if it was OK? if he took a few shirts, he didn't have enough for a week. Kept assuring me he wasn't taking everything.
Today's 2 hour visit was filled w/ little things that gave me hope - and made me afraid to hope. I think it's just this roller coaster stuff again!!!
I've decided to hope against hope, but proceed as thought it's not gonna happen. ONly way to keep at least a little of my sanity!!
Here we are again, girl. Hang in there. I think it's hope that keeps us "being nice". but the absence of it that keeps us going - you know what I mean???
Hang in there. We're here with you.
Lori

Hey all, H is moiving his stuff out this week so I'll be able to tell you what he left behind next weekend. I can tell you that he has a few new pairs of socks in his drawer and I told him about it and he said they were fine where they are. I'm actually really cool with him moving out. I think we need this time apart. Kids are not as accepting but are coming around. We both had a long talk with them this morning and i think they understand. My friends at work can't believe that we have remained so loving towards eachother. I tell them that no matter what happens H will always be my friend. Maybe I am nuts but I still feel really at peace with this. Anyway I'm ready to have some fun so come everyone lets PARTY!!!!!!!!!!
