Hi -
I just wanted to tell you that I am at peace, after 9 months of ups and downs, the Lord is really helping me. My H is home now for a visit - I used to have to leave the house right away because it hurt me so much to see him. This is the third time he has come and we have been at peace. My daughter is at peace too.
Last night I received the first contact from the OW - all jealous because I was talking to my H. She sent me a text message to tell me I shouldn't talk to her boyfriend, (ie my husband!) followed by two other very nasty ones.
I think this is a very good sign because she is finally realizing the power of our marriage that will not give up or go away. She has no power over me and shortly will have none over him. She is making a last ditch effort to make me unhappy but I am already in the arms of the Lord. These messages cause a little emotion by their poison, but I feel so far away from them and I realize that they are the beginning of the end of this A. She is unravelling.
To all of you here, I say, don't give up. God is in charge. I think He needs me for other work right now so I am not that focused on my H. He will come home when the Lord calls him. In the meantime, I am praying for peace in the world and praying that the US will respond to terrorists by prosecuting them and finding them, not by bombing innocent people.
Let's all pray that the US repeat the good actions we did after WWII. When the Russians tried to starve Berlin into submission by cutting off all the roads where the trucks brought food, the US flew in supplies in a very courageous act. Technically, it should have been impossible but we did it and flew in enough supplies to feed something like a million Berliners for over a year. This with two runways and only one flight pattern allowed by the Soviets.
With this action, we became great friends with the Germans, who up until then considered us conquerors. Our relationship has been one of close friendship for over 50 years now.
I wrote to the Sec of State (Secretary@State.gov) to ask him to repeat that type of airlift so that these Afghani refugees who will otherwise die of starvation at the border of Pakistan and other countries, get the same treatment. Maybe we can make friends for 50 years instead of increasing their hate.
We have all realized that war gives us no protection against terrorists. All the nuclear bombs in the world can't protect us from madmen. But love can defuse hate. Love is stronger.
Why don't we all write to the Sec of State and the White House and propose aid, not bombs. It costs less and is far more effective. Let's show we are a Christian nation, a God-fearing people.
One of our bombs is worth more than their whole economy. These people do not even have electricity.
Some of them do have guns though. They know their own territory and will kill a lot of our soldiers if we try to invade them. Just ask the Russians.
If we "kill them with kindness" we will take the teeth out of their argument that we are of Satan. When you eat the food of your enemy because he does not want you to die, you can't deny the act is good. You can't overcome that good any longer.
What do you think?
Maybe if our energy goes into this and other actions to improve our world, the Lord who has allowed us this trial, will patch things up for us. Maybe the Lord has plans for us all in this strange and fearful time. Maybe our marriages being restored are not as important right this minute and the Lord will bring us back in His time.
