Every Wed. we pray and fast for one another for resolution to our marriages and our lives. Every Wed. we can check in and let everyone know we have prayed for the group. Prayer does mighty things and group prayer is even better. "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." Matt 18:20.

I think it will be great to see how God works in our lives and heals our marriages and us. If you want to pray with us I will be more than happy to add your name to the list below.

Over the next 21 weeks or so, I will be adding a prayer from the next chapter of this book to the weekly Prayer and Fast posting. hopeful98 has agreed to enter an excerpt from "The Power of a Praying Wife" (The Power chapter) later within this posting and a prayer from a different chapter each week.

Next Week's Power Prayers:
"Her Husband" - from TTSMM
"His Wife" - from hopeful98

Also, starting next week the prayer posting will go out on Sunday evening/Monday morning. This will allow people to add their prayer request so we can all pray and fast for them on Wed. Thanks to hopeful98 for that suggestion.

Lastly, we are up to almost 160 Prayer Warriors. Unfortunately, not every one of them visits here each week. I am asking that when you read the posting, just hit the "Post Reply" button. You don't need to enter a long reply in the text box; just enter "Amen." so we know that you were here and prayed for all of us. Wouldn't it be a great honor to God to see over 100 replies to this every week.

Thanks for listening, praying and fasting.

God's Blessings be upon us all,

“The Power of A Praying Wife”

The Power
Pg. 14 - 15

Praying for your husband is not the same as praying for a child (even though it may seem similar), because you are not your husband’s mother. We have authority over our children that is given to us by the Lord. We don’t have authority over our husbands. However, we have been given authority “over all the power of the enemy” (Luke 10:19) and can do great damage to the enemy's plans when we pray. Many difficult things that happen in a marriage relationship are actually part of the enemy’s plan set up for its demise. But we can say,
“I will not allow anything to destroy my marriage.”
“I will not stand by and watch my husband be wearied, beaten down, or destroyed.”
“I will not sit idle while an invisible wall goes up between us.”
“I will not allow confusion, miscommunication, wrong attitudes, and bad choices to erode what we are trying to build together.”
“I will not tolerate hurt and unforgiveness leading us to divorce”
We can take a stand against any negative influences in our marriage relationship and know that God has given us authority in His name to back it up.

You have the means to establish a hedge of protection around your marriage because Jesus said, “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18). You have authority in the name of Jesus to stop evil and permit good. You can submit to God in prayer whatever controls your husband – alcoholism, workaholism, laziness, depression, infirmity, abusiveness, anxiety, fear, or failure – and pray for him to be released from it.

Pg. 17 - 19

A wife’s prayers for her husband have a far greater effect on him than anyone else’s, even his mother’s. A mother’s prayers for her child are certainly fervent. But when a man marries, he leaves his father and mother and becomes one with his wife (Matthew 19:5). They are a team, one unit, unified in spirit. The strength of a man and wife joined together in God’s sight is far greater than the sum of the strengths of each of the two individuals. That’s because the Holy Spirit unites them and gives added power to their prayers.

This oneness gives us a power that the enemy doesn’t like. That’s why he devises ways to weaken it. He gives us whatever we will fall for, whether is be low self-esteem, pride, the need to be right, miscommunication, or the bowing to our own selfish desires. He will tell you lies like, “Nothing will ever change.” “Your failures are irreparable.” “There’s no hope for reconciliation.” “You’d be happier with someone else.” He’ll tell you whatever you will believe, because he know if he can get you to believe it, there is no future for your marriage. If you believe enough lies, your heart will eventually be hardened against God’s truth.

In every broken marriage, there is at least one person whose heart is hard against God. When a heart becomes hard, there is no vision from God’s perspective. When we’re miserable in marriage, we feel that anything will be an improvement over what we’re experiencing. But we don’t see the whole picture. We only see the way it is, not the way God wants it to become. When we pray, however, our hearts become soft toward God and we get a vision. We see there is hope. We have faith that He will restore all that has been devoured, destroyed, and eaten away from the marriage. “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten: (Joel 2:25). We can trust Him to take away the pain, hopelessness, hardness, and unforgiveness. We are able to envision His ability to resurrect love and life from the deadest of places.

Pg. 22 - 23

Don’t give place to impatience. Seeing answers to your prayers can take time, especially if your marriage is deeply wounded or strained. Be patient to persevere and wait for God to heal. Keep in mind that you are both imperfect people. Only the Lord is perfect. Look to God as the source of all you want to see happen in your marriage, and don’t worry about how it will happen. It’s your responsibility to pray. It’s God’s job to answer. Leave it in His hands.

I just finished praying for everyone on the list - WOW! what a long list! I pray that the Holy Spirit touches each one of these warriors' lives today in some way. God bless all of you and may you seek to follow his ways always. I did not fast because I fast on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I do pray for everyone on Wednesdays though so we're in agreement! Amen and Amen!

Please pray that God will touch my husband's heart to attend a marital conference in February - Valentine's Day weekend. A co-worker gave me the pamphlet some time ago & I have it sitting out and H glances at it but is yet to agree to go. It will be paid for, and he knows that, so please pray that his heart softens enough to agree to attend. Thanks so much.

Amen to the prayer for those listed, and those not listed. May He provide whatever strength they need in their lives.

Good things this week - I have stayed away from the things that caused my wife most pain.

Bad things this week - I did cause my wife additional pain when I confessed to something about my infidelity that I had previously hidden from her. The company where my wife works has decided to close their doors (possibly temporarily). Someone made an apparent threat against my wife and myself.

It is possible (likely) that I will not be able to post for the next two or three weeks since I may not have internet access. My prayers will be with you all.

SFM,

Is that the "Family Life Marriage Conference" you're talking about? My W and I have gone the past two years here in May. It is a good conference. Very good speakers.

Richard,

The main thing is to make sure you're W doesn't have to guess at anything. Continue to be an open book for her. No secrets at all not even with buying Christmas presents. Being sneaky will only make her feel uncomfortable.

Sorry to hear about the bad stuff.

Blessings to all today.

I am in doing my Wed prayers for everyone on the list, as well as my family, my daughter's father and his family. I am praying for salvation for so many now, that someone may cross their path that will speak to them about Jesus.

As a leap of faith, I have sent my daughter's step mom a Purpose Driven Life for a christmas present. I hope that is received well, as I tell her I am praying for her alot. I am hoping to encourage her at this low point she is going thru. Also, after much prayer, I am feeling an overwhelming need to show love under any circumstances and forgiveness at all times. I think the Lord is still really working on me.

I read alot about Moses this last week in the bible. He had to be so obedient of the Lord and amazing things happened by that. I also examined Noah some. Men of great faith and obedience(most of the time).

After reading about them, I was in a restaraunt a few days later and they sat us next to a table with two ladies that discussed Moses and Noah in great detail. My eyes got big and I eased dropped on the whole conversation. Talk about a weird thing.

I am thinking lately that the Lord is everywhere, and their are gonna be some answered prayers here! Praise the Lord!

Diamonzzz still owe me email! We may get a cat!

I prayed for all of you today, though Satan threw a lot of interference at me not to. I kep t making excuses at work to pray later. I usually say, "I pray for <name>", and repeat this for each Prayer Warrior on the list. The I read the entire posting up to that time. Any prayers and thoughts I have through out the day go to all of you.

Another thing he throws at me is food. Today one of our vendors catered lunch for my dept. I didn't eat, but i took some food and placed in my tupperware for lunch tomorrow. Same thing happened last Wed from another vendor. Same thing will happen next Wed for our division Christmas lunch. I thought about asking God and of you to move my fast to Tues off Thurs. Then it came to me. No, I will still fast on this coming Wed and still save food for the next day's lunch. If anyone asks about this behavior I'll say, "I fast on Wed for the restoration of my marriage. I made a pact with God and over 150 men and women through out the country. I intend to keep it." Who knows, maybe God wants this so I witness and evangalize some. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Now that it is over, I can look at from a "I am a jerk" pov. Tonight we decorated the Christmas tree. I asked my W if she wanted to put on some Christmas music? She said she wasn't into that corniness, but if I wanted go ahead I didn't need her permission. We decorated with our 2 C and she was consistently moving the decorations the C and I placed to different areas on the tree. It had to be her way. I knew this would happen from past experience, so I took responsibility for handling the decorations, but only placed a few on the tree. My heart was not in it; I couldn't even muster the joy for the C. After they wer getting too rambuctious, I finally told them to go to bed. They cried and I felt bad, but I sent them off. Then my W tells me to check on them to see if they were ok (s was crying and D still had hmwrk to complete). I told my W "NO!" If our D didn't finish her work, she would learn about those consequences from her teacher. And our S could just keep on crying.

SATAN LEAV ME ALONE! That wasn't the me I want to be. That was a selfish me not wanting my W to control me yet again. So much so that I would let my C suffer so as not to give into my W.

I finally went to them and checked my D's work - nice story she wrote. Then comforted my S, read to him and fell asleep with him in his bed. When I awoke, ~45 min later, I went downstairs and my W had moved many of the ornaments we placed and made sure every ornament we had was on the tree. I was angry instead of happy and letting her that was great. I was afraid to offer a compliment because earlier that evening I complimented her baking some EXCELLENT cookies. She was upset by this and told me to stop, "I don't need your praise any more."

I am letting you know this not to bmc (bit*&, moan and complain), but to let you know I see how Satan just keeps on trying. He even had me feeling unworthy about myself, since I di have disapproving thoughts of my W this evening, saying to me "How can you pray for others when you are no good? God's not going to listen to you."

Well, I proved him wrong. I prayed for ALL of us tonight. I finished my commitment to praying for you as I mentioned above. Prayer is powerful and I will not let Satan win, because I have Jesus Christ in my corner, and He will overcome ALL who go against Him and His Word.

If you will indulge me a little bit more I want to share with you a prayer that I wrote on the last week's posting. I wrote it on Monday? of this week so I don't know if you got to read it. The Holy Spirit was talking to me so the words just flowed out faster than I could type them.

All Loving Father. You have brought us all here for a purpose; Your Purpose. You have grown this ministry week by week, as we come together to praise You and to pray to you for the restoration of our marriages and, for many of us, the salvation of our spouses.

We ask that you bestow upon us the "fruits of the Holy Spirit": love, joy, peace, longsuffering, faithfulness, goodness, gentleness, kindness, and selfcontrol - to use in our marriages, lives and relationships.

If nothing ever changed in our marriages or our lives, we will always be thankful for Your Son, dying on the cross so that we may enjoy eternity with You in Heaven.

We know, in our hearts, that Your plan for us is PERFECT. And being the humans we are, we become impatient and lack the understanding of why we are going through enormous emotional, physical and mental anguish. As Christ bathed us with His Most Precious Blood to ransome our lives from sin, we now ask that You bathe us with Your Love and Mercy to help us "accept" what we are going through.

We ask that You build a hedge of thorns around our spouses so that Satan does not tempt them into doing more evil against You and our marriages. We also ask that you continue to test us, although it does hurt, so that we continue to grow Christlike in character and can be a testament to Your Unconditional Love.

We pray now for those who do not beleive in You or Your Son, Jesus Christ. Not only our spouses, but for all peoples throughout the world. Especially those that are sick and dying. We pray that You will send one of Your Elect into their lives so that they may be saved.

We pray that You surround those gathered here before You, who are Mothers and Fathers, to protest those innocent little ones from the pain we are going through as we work on restoring our marriages.

But we ask this as not our wills, but as THY WILL BE DONE!

All Honor, Glory and Worship is given You and Your Most Holy Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior and Master of our lives. We ask this through Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

SFM,

My W and I have gone to the last two marrige conferences. But here's the surprise; My W and I wen't to a Christian concert and we ran into a couple we hadn't ween in a while. The guy just handed me a pamphlet about the confernece and asked me if we were going. Inside I said I would reallt like to go, but because we were just 4 months out of D-Day and she was still in a thick fog. The girl said something to my W and the next thing I know my W wanted to go. God was in it all the way.

We will be going again this year. As a matter of fact we will probably join the team and work the conference.

So just keep praying and see what happens. The most uncomfortable parts will be some of the things you are asked to do that fosters communication between the couples. It's uncomfortable only if you don't communcate very well.

And yes the enemy does try to throw off us off our fast. I remember one time I went to see one of my users and after I was done they walked behind a counter and brought out a Krispy Kream box and asked me if I wanted one. I love KK and we don't have any over here yet. I only get them when I visit the mainland once every couple of years. I didn't give in and turned them down. <img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Bless ya'll.

Beloved,
Starting this Monday, the "Restoration of Marriages and Lives" will be posted. We will still being praying and fasting on Wednesdays as usual. By posting on Monday, you will be able to add your special prayer requests so we can see them and rpay for them on Wednesdays.
In the the past, you would get the message snet out by myself, and depending on whe you read the posting, you would or would not see the special prayers our brothers and sisters were requesting. This suggestion came from hopeful98 and I believe the Spirit guided her with this so we can be more of a community on Wednesdays.

She has also graciously accepted my invitation to write the prayer and any thoughts from the chapters of "The Power of a Praying Wife" each week in the "Restoration" post. I will be supplying the same chapter, in order if not title, from "The Power of a Praying Husband".
Thank you dear sister.

Lastly, I am requesting that when you read the "Restoration" post each week, that you let us all know by hitting hte reply button and typing in "Amen". You can of course enter more if you have time and/or if the Spirit moves you. We would like your reply so we can gauge how many are using this mininstry. We have over 150 names on the Prayer Warrior list, but not all (not even half) are still with us in this forum, or maybe even on this site.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to do this.

I will be putting htis message in a separate possting so everyone has an opportunity to read it.

God's Blessings,
TTSMM
