I have prayed fervantly to God to reveal some sort of sign to me about his plans for my life. I have mentioned before that I feel "stuck" in my life. I have had numerous people come to me and tell me they had a dream that me and my XW got back together. I have also had this (very real) dream. I do not doubt my God or faith in him that he can do this. I don't know if dating is the right thing for me to do right now? I don't feel guilty or anything but I feel it might throw a monkey wrench in things. What do you think?

Adam, if you do not feel comfortable dating, don't date. There is no requirement that you do so.

I read Terry Waite's autobiography and he had a passage from Augustine in there. This passage stuck with me. It explained a lot of thing to me and has caused me not to hunt vigorously for men to complicate my life.

"To have peace, you must know yourself. And to know yourself, you must be alone."

That doesn't mean you have to be on a deserted island in order to be peaceful. You don't have to live as a hermit. But you don't have to keep hunting for the next 'big thing'.

Find peace and joy where you are. Open yourself to possibilities.

You can not make your x choose you. But you can run her further away.

Let the universe and the future unfold as you work on your relationships with God and yourself.
