Dear friends,

It's been a horrible week-end. <img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" />

My dear, 9-yr old female dog was diagnosed w/heartworms (in advaced stages) and possibly a host of other maladies.

I hadn't noticed anything too radical before this time, but apparently, while I couldn't take care of them adequately with my broken arm, and others were caring for them, she was getting worse and worse.

Finally, last week, when I took a good, hard look at her, and realized all was not right, I called the vet. He had me give her Lasix for 4 days, trying to remove the excess liquid which was accumulated in her stomach. Didn't work.

Then he had me bring her in, and he tried some more powerful drugs, to remove the liquid. Didn't work. <img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" />

She hadn't eaten in days and days (Verrrrrrry unusual), so I knew by that sign she was quite sick. She was lethargic, reduced to skin and bones, only this huge stomach...........

So, I did the only thing I could for her........

<img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" />

Please pray the Father will wrap His Arms around me and comfort me tonight..........

This kind of stuff is so hard to handle all alone.

lupo...

I am so sorry to hear this. I lost my best friend of 11 years (my Boxer) last Mar. very suddenly.

I pray that God's grace and mercy hugs your heart and you feel the embrace of His arms; as He holds you tonight.

I am so sorry for your pain. I too had to put a stray kitten, that we had decided to keep, to sleep after a dog attack. It would have been too much $, that we didn't have, to keep up with the consistent surgeries. I pray that you receive comfort, and any time you need a good shoulder to cry on, remember that God is with you and His shoulder is big enough for everyone in the world (those are some mighty big shoulders!).

We love you, LL, and we are all here for you. {{{{{{{{{{{LL}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

I am genuinely sorry for your loss lupo. It's hard to lose a best friend! But to humor you up a little, I see your dog in dog heaven gathered around the table playing cards, and telling stories of the bad habits her owner had when she ate! And you thought no one was watching!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="images/icons/tongue.gif" />

When does the cast come off?

My condolences
sg

lupo,
My heartfelt sympathy to you in your lose. I have had to do the same more than once. I felt it was important to be there and not have them be alone. The last one was April 2002. "Miso" the best siamese cat. He was diagnosed with diabetes and we knew with treatment, it wouldn't be long. Marie and I made a promise that we would not blame ourselves if we missed his shots (2-3 a day for the rest of his life). I didn't have God and these good friends here in my life like you do now. try to remember those real good moments you shared. Miso used to chase (and fetch) a sponge golfball I would chip down the hall.

God's tenderness be with you,
ttsmm

Hi LupoLady,
I'm really, really sorry.

Like NOT dropping bits of yummies from the table?

She's not in pain, she's warm and fuzzy, curled up at the big-guy's feet.

I'm crying as I write this... I understand your pain totally, and I know you will miss her terribly. I am sorry - Dru
