LITANY OF HUMILITY
Cardinal Merry Del Val
(October 10, 1865-February 26, 1930)
O Jesus, meek and humble of heart,
Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being loved,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being extolled,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being honored,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being praised,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being preferred to others,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being consulted,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being approved,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being humiliated,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being despised,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of suffering rebukes,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being calumniated,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being forgotten,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being ridiculed
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being wronged,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being suspected,
Deliver me, Jesus.
That others may be loved more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be chosen and I set aside,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be praised and I unnoticed,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be preferred to me in everything,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may become holier than I, provided that I become as holy as I should,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
Amen.
I had a terrible day yesterday. Our company sold off half of its shares to its partner and I don't know what that means for me. We are a British-based company and now we will be a Dutch-based company. This mught not be good or me because I got many execs in Holland upset with me for reporting them on going to porn sites on company time (when I was responsible for our Internet access). Porn to the Dutch is like breathing, so they saw nothing wrong with accessing it even during business hours. My British management saw otherwise. So I don't know where I will stand with the Dutch management.
I rec'd an email from my manager that I was not responsible for company security. This was in response to an email I sent to my supervisor saying that USB devices could be a security risk. Instead of him approaching me on it he forwarded the email to our manager saying, "I DONT KNOW HOW TO TELL HIM THAT THIS IS NOT HIS PROBLEMMMMMMMM!" This is the third time that he has forwarded my email, or verbal comments, to our boss to make me look bad.
Yesterday was the Feast of St. Blaise, blessings of the throat. I went ot work late so I could go to Mass. I rushed to work, 75mph, so I would be there in case my W called (I forgot, intentionally, to tell her I was going to Mass). On the way to work, a lot of slow drivers, and I lost my cool (cursing, honking, flashing lights). Same onthe way home so my W would not be late for work.
I then took this out <img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" /> on the kids when they didn't do what they were suppose to do.
After I put the kids to bed, I turned on EWTN and "Mother Angelica" was on. A caller said she wanted to say this prayer. I wept.
Love and Peace in Christ,
