Please pray for my wife and me. She wants a divorce and is unwilling to consider anything else. We've tried for 2 years to reconcile our problems with many ups and downs. I'm not done trying but she is. We have 2 beautifiul young children are involved. I'm ready to try Dr Dobson's Love Must Be Tough book. Please pray for the greatest miracle from God that my wife will return to me.

EAH,

We do not know anything about your situation. I'm not saying we need to know every detail here, but I would hate to be praying for your wife to have a change of heart if you used to beat her and that's the "trouble" you are trying to reconcile. Has there been an A? I know that God hates divorce, and that it seems as if your W's heart has hardenend, but if there was physical abuse involved or drug or sexual addiction, maybe she is trying to protect herself and not just hardening her heart. I think that prayer would be a bit different.

Whatever the circumstances, never forget that God forgives *all* who truly turn to him.

I pray that both partners in this marriage are willing to truly turn to God, and that they may find healing in a manner that is appropriate for their problems.

Lord, in this time where it seems relationships are under attack from all sides, help us all learn to live in your love, and manifest that love in our daily lives.
Amen

Faithfulwife,

Yes, I had an A just over 2 years ago. Through therapy and part of Dr Harley's course, we've learned a lot about why it happened and how to prevent it from happening again. And I take full responsibility for the A, but we both have had to make behavioral changes for our marriage to work. At the time of the A, my wife's grandmother passed away and I was not there for her. My grandmother just passed away last month, and my wife was very supportive for me. But I think it brought up some very bad feelings from the past that she has been internalizing and thinking about, which has lead to where we are today. She has slowly shut down and cut herself off from me. A wall of defense is up to keep herself from being hurt again. It's happened before, and it's a struggle to bring it down. She now feels that she doesn't want to fight to bring the wall down anymore. But I'm not giving up, and I tell her not to give up either. We would be robbed of so much by taking the easy way out by divorcing. We will be so much stronger by defeating the evil and not letting it win.

I do acknowledge her feelings and know that I can't make her stop feeling a particular way. I do know that she does not hate me. She does not dislike me. She says she still loves and cares for me. She says she wants to be able to trust, respect, and admire me once again someday. She says that the last year was better than the one before, but doesn't believe the next year will continue to improve.

So that's my story. I do believe that God can heal all. Regardless of the problems they're having. And I love my wife and family more than anything else on this planet.
