I am a recently renewed christian woman and pray daily, I have forgiven the cheating husband and he has recently been spiritually renewed as well....so now it's like a big happy family again.....but the feelings pop up often of such deep pain. We are going to counseling and doing well.....too well ........so many confusing feelings.....not quite sure what to do w/all of them. God has worked so many miricles in my life recently that it is so overwhelming. But I still hurt so deeply. I don't understand what I am asking God for....a peaceful heart, to heal the wounds or am I supposed to feel it.......feels wrong for everything to be "right" I found out 3 months ago. The spirit came over me so that I would have the ability to forgive my husband, which happened almost as soon as I found out.....maybe too soon. I am so confused....any guidance? Signing off......."so much pain"

2334pem:

I'm so sorry no one has responded to you yet, although it's been over 24 hours since you first posted here.

I don't have much to say, I feel so UNqualified to answer, since we are still apart, and no sign (YET!) of H's repentance for his adultery. Therefore you are way ahead of me, and I don't have many "pearls" of wisdom. Many here are much wiser than I. I'll give it a try, though.

The greatest thing is that you have both renewed a right relationship w/Jesus Christ. THIS ALONE will "make it all right." I don't mean it will just be smooth sailing from now on, but I think as long as you both keep drawing closer to HIM, you will feel that peace you are talking about.

I think you need to know you are following the wisdom of God. I recently picked up a (ANOTHER!) book. The name of it is "Walking Wisely" and it is written by Charles Stanley. I've only gotten a little ways into it so far, but it seems like it's going to be a big help in understanding how to "hear God" when He speaks to us. In helping us know WHERE to "step" next, and KNOW we are IN HIS WILL.

I know that doesn't really sound like what you are asking, but I'm pretty sure it is! I think God will continue to send you His Peace, as long as you are walking in HIS will. I believe that's why you are feeling so very much Peace now! In the meantime, this is a spiritual war. That means your enemy, the enemy of your soul, the enemy of your very MARRIAGE - doesn't want you to succeed in rebuilding it! Satan doesn't want you to feel peace or harmony, or have things work out. To give God the Glory will NOT work in his domain! So he's keeping the thoughts coming at you that something's WRONG with you if you are "healing" so easily!

Keep seeking God. Period. As long as you two are both doing THAT, and keeping your eyes on HIM - all the time - then HE "will keep you in Perfect Peace........."

God Bless,

I think just give it to God.....? When I am overwhelmed with those feelings I silently pray to God and he eases the "feeling"!

I firmly believe that there are consequeces for the sin of A. May be that consequence is our greif..........?

When I am going thru these times I also rely on what is going on in my life TODAY. Remind myself of the positive ways in which my H is loving and caring for me now and also that he is trusting in God!

Prayers,
Atruheart

I know why it took so long for answers to my posting now. I was to search the answer myself. What I came up with is this: All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the faith and correcting error, for resetting the directin of a man's life and training him for good living. Renewal in God allows power to flow into our lives. That power can transform us.

I also decided for me it is better not to read the "stories" here, but to turn to God's story....scripture.....Allowing God to take you to the necessary basic concepts written here in MB. Read them, learn them, practice them and reclaim your marriage (if you have that opportunity) and reclaim the blissful love that started us in this journey of marriage.

You are right to say "the devil" wants us to stray. Thank you for your thoughtful words. I was upset that I had not received reply's and over the last two days have discovered there is so much sadness and gossip about the sadness, just not enough gossip about the glory of God. I will continue my walk with God, as that is my only source of comfort now.
