Today in MC my wife announced her decision to seek a divorce. I am devastated. I don't want my two little daughters to go through this. I love my wife dearly. We all need prayers.

I was also devastated the day my H mentioned the word Divorce. It's been about 14 mths since and about 7 mths since he actually filed. God has taken such good care of me and I KNOW He will do the same for you. Lean on Him and put your marriage in His hands.
I will be praying for you, your wife and your 2 daughters. God Bless!

My husband filed almost two weeks ago and two days ago announced that he had made a mistake and "called off the dogs", meaning lawyers, of course. I am also scared (how long will this last? Will he change his mind again?) but I can tell you from experience that people make rash statements sometimes. Keep telling her you don't want the divorce, avoid LB's like the plague, tell her you will do whatever it takes to resolve your issues, has she read His Needs Her Needs for Parenting? That is what turned my H around. Good luck to us all...

My wife said she wanted to start mediation (she didn't say divorce but that is what i heard) Do you think it is possible that starting mediation process may actually turn things around?

My wife said she wanted to start mediation (she didn't say divorce but that is what i heard) Mediation is getting agreement on all the issues so it can be presented to a judge to make it binding.
Do you think it is possible that starting mediation process may actually turn things around? Absolutely! When both parties start looking at all (literally) the details of their lives together, it's preety difficult NOT to get all choked up and thoughtful about it.

Is anyone familiar with controlled separation? Do you think that could be a reasonable alternative than mediation?
