My wife and I have been together six days. We were able to have sex for the first three days, but I can no longer get an erection. It is becoming increasingly frustrating. Has anyone experienced this previously?
We are both Christians and remained virgins until marriage. Does anyone have any advice?
It's a really big issue in our new marriage and I'm concerned this could go on for a long time. I have very low sensitivity to sexual arrousal. This is all very sudden and surprising. Please pray for us and give us any advice you can. Thanks!

First of all, Congratulations on your marriage!
I think its great that you both waited for marriage to have sex.
My advice is to relax and take your time getting to know each others needs and how to meet them.
Let this be a time of giving, and exploring.
You might have unrealistic expectations, of instantly being able to know each other, adn connect sexually, but it takes time to get to know each other in this way.
It is part of the growing together, bonding.
Don't take yourselves too seriously in this. Relax, take it slow.
Father, bless this couple and teach them to love each other in every way.

Actually, there are many, many reasons why this could be happening: anything from physical reasons, to illnesses, to be afraid or pressured. Here are a few examples:
Not knowing your medical history, I will give an educated guess--you are a male person, fairly young, in reasonably good health for a person of your age. Let's start with the worst stuff and work our way to the most likely stuff.
ILLNESSES: There are many illnesses that can cause E.D. For example, did you know that diabetes can affect the ability, because the blood flow in the apendages is decreased as the blood sugar is increased?? So, if you are diabetic and had even one drink to celebrate with your new bride, it would seriously impact the amount of blood flowing! Also, in diabetes, ummm...sustained and repetitious instances of "getting together" in a short period of time can also inhibit the vessels from giving sufficient blood flow.
The verdict? If some of the other two, more likely things are not the reason for the E.D., then go to the doc and get checked out. Even if there is an illness (like diabetes) it's usually mostly a lifestyle change than a sentence of never getting to have sex again. In the example of diabetes, for example, it just means no drinking beforehand, managing blood sugar during the day, going a little slower to allow for GOOD blood flow, and limiting to once or twice a day (haha)!
PHYSICAL: Okay, I'm going to be blunt here as if I were your mom. You just had to plan a WEDDING. You lived through the day and it was exhausting. You waited until you were married and could hardly contain yourself. It's like bunnies the first few days because you can finally do it, and now you're body is saying "ENOUGH ALREADY!!" I'd suggest taking a night off and doing some other enjoyable stuff, and honoring the fact that the stress of the wedding is over, etc. Let your body recover a little!
Alternatively, maybe you're on your honeymoon and things got hotter once the sun went down, and after a couple of days of dancing the nights away and resting up during the day to recover from a whole night--well, your body said "ENOUGH ALREADY!" You get the drift, right? There are any number of physical things that can affect that situation: stress, lack of sleep, eating the wrong thing, worry, and even sometimes being so excited in your mind that your body can't keep up! So, if you can pinpoint the thing that's bothering you (like in my instance, if I'm stressed out, I need to relax and let it go before I can get in the mood), then just do what you have to do to take care of that. Bad sunburn? Get a gallon of Aloe and wait a day or two--it will return. Food poisoning from the cruiseline? Seven-up and a day should fix that. Okay??? Get it???
MENTAL: As you can see, closely related to Physical up above. If your body is stressed, chances are your mind is also stressed, and to be fully into great sex, your mind has to be as ready as your body. You know what they say right? Your MIND is your biggest sex organ! (Boy, can I even SAY that on a Prayer forum??)
So, if you can pinpoint the mental or emotional thing that is creating the problem, then you can do something about it. Don't forget, if you are feeling hurt or sad or lonely or homesick or overwhelmed, your body may not respond. So if you feel sad, here's where the real intimacy part of marriage comes in and you have to speak with your partner about it and tell her how you feel.
From one old veteran to a newbie!
