LET'S PRAY!! -
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:20
Election day is here, November 2, 2004! Monday and Tuesday across the United States are men and women fasting and praying for the election of the President, congressmen and senators. May you and I pray for God to show His mighty power in this election year. May you and I humble ourselves and pray for our Nation.
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place." 2 Chronicles 20:14-15
I know that I was silent for too many years as many Christians and pastors have said recently, and we Christians need to go vote "Christian." The church feel asleep while the United States was passing laws that our children could not read the Bible at school or pray and many other issues. We, Christians, have lost many of our
rights, but the church has awakened and we are not going to be silent any longer. You and I serve a risen Savior, that need to be in charge of all areas of our life.
"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." I Timothy 2:1-4
Our church is coming alive to say that marriage is between a man and a women. Now you and I need to pray that your pastor will see that nothing is too hard for our Lord God to do so that your church and prayer chain can pray for your marriage to be revived, restored and rebuilt on the solid rock of Jesus Christ.
"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16
As I started reading my Bible today, I could see from Genesis to Revelation that God reveals His power to His children at the appointed time for Him to get the glory. May we pray that the election will be a landslide so that God gets the glory and honor by doing immeasurably more than all we ask or can imagine! As in I Kings
Chapter 18, Elijah went before the people and challenged them if they were going to be obedient to God or disobedient and be willing to suffer the consequences.
"Elijah went before the people and said, "How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him." But the people said nothing.... At noon Elijah began to taunt them. "Shout louder!" he said. "Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened." So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed. Midday passed, and they continued their frantic prophesying until the time for the evening sacrifice. But there was no response, no one answered, no one paid attention. Then Elijah said to all the people, "Come here to me." They came to him, and he repaired the altar of the LORD , which was in ruins. Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the LORD had come, saying, "Your name shall be Israel." With the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD ,... At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: "O LORD , God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O LORD , answer me, so these people will know that you, O LORD , are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again." Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, "The LORD -he is God! The LORD -he is God!" I King 18:21,27-32,36-39
I was also reading the book of Acts today, about the power of the Holy Spirit. I pray that you and I know who we are in Christ and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. May you read John Chapter 14 about the power of the Holy Spirit. I believe that many standers are not able to stand, having unbelief, not understanding the power of the Holy Spirit. Read Acts Chapter 12:1-19, where Peter was arrested and being guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. See the power of prayer and how the people praying doubted that Peter was at the door released by an angel!
"So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him." Acts 12:5
May you and I be challenged to fast and pray for our Lord God to move mountains of circumstances of what the enemy is trying to cause the day of voting for the election. Pray for protection for all cities and people. Pray that the Lord will cause confusion to the enemy. Pray that God will send out His warrior angels to protect our Nation from the enemy, because God's children prayed. Will you join us in prayer for our election, safety of the United States, and for God to get the glory in voting "Christian" that the media will have to say, this is a "miracle."
"Lord, I pray that you will direct every voter to vote according to Your plan, will and purpose. May You show Your mighty power, not only to Your children, but to all the others around the world. May Your Word bring forth truth, justice and honesty to our Nation. May You touch all our prodigals who are in the far country and may they see the truth and the power of God turning from their wicked way. Lord, may You bless and protect America. Amen."
