Every Wed. we pray and fast for one another for resolution to our marriages and our lives. Every Wed. we can check in and let our fellow prayer warriors know we have prayed for the group. Prayer does mighty things and group prayer is even better. "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." Matt 18:20. I will be entering the prayer post on Sundays so everyone has an opportunity to check in and to add their own personal prayer request if they want to/need to. Then on Wed. we can check in, hit the "Post Reply" button, and enter "Amen". I think it will be great to see how God works in our lives and heals our marriages and us. If you want to pray with us I will be more than happy to add your name to the list below. Prayer Warriors who are praying and being prayed for: -.{193 Prayer Warriors and counting} cajunky . Ezra . The Power of a Praying Wife
Chapter Fifteen - His Reputation
A good reputation is a fragile thing, especially in this day of rapid communication and mass media. Just being in the wrong place at the wrong time can ruin a person's life.
A reputation is not something to be taken lightly. A good name is to be chosen over great riches (Proverbs 22:1) and is better than the precious ointment (Ecclesiastes 7:1). It's something to value and protect. A person who doesn't value his reputation may someday desire credibility and not find it. Our reputation can be ruined by wrong things we do, by the people with whom we are associated, or by disparaging words spoken about us. In all three cases, evil is involved.
A virtuous wife, the Bible says, has a husband who is respected. He is "known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land" (Proverbs 31:23). Does that just happen? Is every virtuous wife guaranteed a husband with a good reputation? Or does she have something to do with that? It's true that a man gets a certain amount of respect for having a good wife, but I believe one of the good things she does is pray for him and his reputation.
Prayer for your husband's reputation should be an ongoing process. However, keep in mind that he has a free will. If he is not sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, he may still choose to go his own way and get into trouble. If something like that happens or has already happened to tarnish his reputation, pray for God to redeem the situation and bring good out of it. He can do that, too.
PRAYER
Lord, I pray that (husband's name) will have a reputation that is untarnished. I know that a man is often valued "by what others say of him" (Proverbs 27:21), so I pray that he will be respected in our town and people will speak highly of him.
You said in your Word that "a curse without cause shall not alight" (Proverbs 26:2). I pray that there would never be any reason for bad things to be said of him. Keep him out of legal entanglements. Protect us from lawsuits and criminal proceedings. Deliver him from his enemies, O God. Defend him from those who rise up to do him harm (Psalm 59:1). Fight against those who fight against him (Psalm 35:1). In You, O Lord, we put our trust. Let us never be put to shame (Psalm 71:1). If You are for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31)?
Your Word says that "a good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire" (Matthew 7:18, 19). I pray that my husband will bear good fruit out of the goodness that is within him, and that he will be known by the good that he does. May the fruits of honesty, trustworthiness, and humility sweeten all his dealings so that his reputation will never be spoiled.
Preserve his life from the enemy, hide him from the secret counsel of the wicked. Pull him out of any net which has been laid for him (Psalm 31:4). Keep him safe from the evil of gossiping mouths. Where there has been ill spoken of him, touch the lips of those who speak it with Your refining fire. Let the responsibility of those involved be revealed. Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion who seek to destroy his life; let them be driven backward and brought to dishonor who wish him evil (Psalm 40:14). May he trust in You and not be afraid of what man can do to him (Psalm 56:11). For You have said whoever believes in You will not be put to shame (Romans 10:11). Lead him, guide him, and be his mighty fortress and hiding place. May his light so shine before men that they see his good words and glorify You, Lord (Matthew 5:16).

The Power of a Praying Husband (copied from an old post by ItsInHisHandsNow)
Chapter Sixteen - Her Desires
Is there an interest you wish your wife would share with you? Pray for her to develop that interest. Obviously, nothing is impossible with God. He can even open your wife's eyes to the thrills and wonders of your favorite pastime. All she needs is a little prayer. But there is more to pray about than just interests and activities. There are dreams and desires that should be prayed about too.
Everyone has dreams. Some of them come from our flesh, but many are put in our hearts by God. It's vitally important to know which is which, because it is miserable when we mistake our own dreams for His. When we pursue our own dreams and make idols out of them, we become unfulfilled. When we don't pursue the ones He gives us, we become bitter.
It?s not that God doesn't want us to dream. He does. God says we can't live without a dream or vision. But He doesn't want us to leave Him out of it. And if the dream we are dreaming is not from the Lord, we will be forever frustrated by the fact that it is never realized. He wants us to surrender our dreams to Him. When we do that, it will seem as if they are completely dead. But God will resurrect the ones that are from Him and release us from the ones that are not.
It's amazing how we can live in the same house with a person for years and never know the deepest desire of his or her heart. And all because we don't ask. Often our dreams and desires as so deep we don't even verbalize them. Or we believe that the possibility of them ever happening is so remote that we lose hope.
Sometimes the answers to life's frustrations are so simple. As simple as asking a loved one about her dream and then praying it into existence or completely out of her life. Husbands, if you want a happy and fulfilled wife who is a joy to be around, ask her if there is a dream deep within her heart that she longs to see fulfilled. Listen openly as she describes it, with no judgment, no condemnation, no lecture on why it's not possible. Then pray for her to be able to surrender it to the Lord. When she is able to surrender her dream to God, He will either take the desire for it away, or else bring it to fruition in His way and in His time. Either way, she will find peace.
If the dream your wife shares with you is of the Lord and He opens a door, encourage her to walk through it. If her dream is not of God, He will use your prayers to release her to something far better and more rewarding. And the rewards of a released wife are ones you will thank me for later on.
Prayer Power Lord, I pray that You would touch {wife's name} this day and fulfill her deepest desires. Help her to surrender her dreams to You so that You can bring to life the ones You have placed in her heart. I pray that she will never try to follow a dream of her own making, one that You will not bless. Help her to surrender her plans so that You can reveal Your plan. I know that in Your plan, timing is everything. May she reach for her highest dreams in Your perfect timing.
Lord, I pray that in the midst of all my wife has to do, there would be time for what she enjoys most. Help me to understand the things that interest her. I also pray that You would make a way for us to share {name a specific activity or interest you would like to do together}. Help her to understand my enjoyment of it, and may she develop an appreciation for it too. Show me how to encourage her in this area. Give me words without any negative undertones that will inspire her. If this is not an appropriate activity for us, show us one that would be. I pray we will have common interests we can enjoy together.
Lord, I know that You would not give us dreams that aren't compatible. I pray that the desires of our hearts will be perfectly knitted together. May we not only be caught up in own dreams but in each other's as well. Help us to always share with one another the deepest desires of our hearts. [ November 14, 2004, 07:58 PM: Message edited by: hopeful98 ]

Amen.
Father,
I ask that everyone here who is trusting you would see your hand in their situations, and your work unfolding in their lives.
Jesus told us that it is the spirit that gives life- that the flesh profits nothing...so we are relying on you to reconcile our spouses to you, and to us.
Let your transforming power be shown in the lives of everyone here in this board, and those we love and pray for , as a witness to your greatness .
Thank you Father, for what you are doing today.
Shul

A day late... but Amen.
This week is really not going well. May His guiding hand be ever with us - even in the darkest times.
God Bless, Richard
