She has been getting severely bullied at school.
That and everything else; rejection from her dad, moving out of our house, and esp not having any friends, has taken a toll on her. She is very lonely.
With Xmas coming she has been feeling everything kind of multiplied.
We are doing our best, dealing with the school, her dad has been coming around and spending time with her, I spend all my free time with her but last night she was talking about wishing she was dead.
We are taking this very seriously.
Please pray, esp that she can find a friend.

Shul,
This is very serious. Get your D to a C now! She is depressed & she needs some AD's or some other course of therapy. Also, have you tried talking to the school about the bullying incidents? I know some schools, like ours, are instituting no-bullying policies & your D could probably benefit a great deal from that.

Yes,
We have talked to the school ,many times over the past couple of years, but it was only in the past month that they started to do something.
They have a policy now, and an antibullying program that they are teaching.
But it will take time to undo all the years that this has been going on.
I took her to the doctor last monday. He refused AD's b/c he said that in kids they can have a dangerous side effect of causing suicidal thoughts, and also that they would cause weight gain, which is part of her problem.
He is going to do a complete physical after Xmas, and then if there is nothing organic he will send her to a specialist.
I am getting a second opinion. And I am in touch with the local mental health team.
Today was a little better. We took her shopping for a dress for Xmas, and then we all 3 went to a concert in support of the local foodbank.
She had fun today, she loves her dress, and she is excited about her school concert tomorrow. Esp b/c her dad is coming, and she has a big part.
I am exhausted but I can't sleep. I nearly broke down at the mall.
Both my parents died of suicide, and there was a bad time years ago, that I was a prime candidate.
I am not taking any chances with her. We are on full alert.

Glad to hear you're doing something proactive, Shul. Depression in children is very serious. I just hate to see the rates of teen suicide! My heart grieves b/c adults sometimes don't understand the depth of their child's pain. It's good to see that you BOTH do.
Wonderful news about your H attending your D's concert. I'll bet she'll be thrilled! I pray that he realizes how much she needs him & wants him to be with her.
Still praying for you, Y
