Every Wed. we pray and fast for one another for resolution to our marriages and our lives. Every Wed. we can check in and let our fellow prayer warriors know we have prayed for the group. Prayer does mighty things and group prayer is even better. "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." Matt 18:20.

I will be entering the prayer post on Sundays so everyone has an opportunity to check in and to add their own personal prayer request if they want to/need to. Then on Wed. we can check in, hit the "Post Reply" button, and enter "Amen".

I think it will be great to see how God works in our lives and heals our marriages and us. If you want to pray with us I will be more than happy to add your name to the list below.

The Power of a Praying Wife

Chapter Twenty-One -His Marriage

Praying for all aspects of a marriage keeps the concept of divorce from gaining any hold. So we mustn't neglect the major issues, even if we think they don't apply to us.

Marriage is great when two people enter into it with a mutual commitment to keep it strong no matter what. But often a couple will have preconceived ideas about who the other is and how married life is supposed to be, and then reality hits. That's when their kingdom can become divided. You have to continually pray that any unreal expectations be exposed and all incompatibilities be smoothed out so that you grow together in spirit of unity, commitment, and a bond of intimacy. Pray that your marriage is a place where two agree so God will be in the midst of it (Matthew 18:19,20). If either of you has been married before, pray that you do not bring any residue from that into your marriage now. Break any ties good or bad, emotional or spiritual with any former relationships. You can't move forward into the future if you have a foot stuck in the past.

Don't take your marriage for granted, no matter how great it is. "Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall" (1 Corinthians 10:12). Pray for your marriage to be protected from any person or situation that could destroy it. Ask the Lord to do whatever it takes to keep the marriage intact, even if it means striking one of you with lightning when you think about giving it all up! Pray that God will make your marriage a source of joy and life to both of you, and not drudgery, a thorn, a dread, an irritation, or a temporary condition.

PRAYER

Lord, I pray You would protect our marriage from anything that would harm or destroy it. Shield it from our own selfishness and neglect, from the evil plans and desires of others, and from unhealthy or dangerous situations. May there be no thoughts of divorce or infidelity in our hearts, and none in our future. Set us free from past hurts, memories, and ties from previous relationships, and unrealistic expectations of one another. I pray that there be no jealousy in either of us, or the low self-esteem that precedes that. Let nothing come into our hearts and habits that would threaten the marriage in any way, especially influences like alcohol, drugs, gambling, pornography, lust, or obsessions.

Unite us in a bond of friendship, commitment, generosity, and understanding. Eliminate our immaturity, hostility, or feeling of inadequacy. Help us to make time for one another alone, to nurture and renew the marriage and remind ourselves of the reasons we were married in the first place. I pray that (husband's name) will be so committed to You, Lord, that his commitment to me will not waiver, no matter what storms come. I pray that our love for each other will grow stronger every day, so that we will never leave a legacy of divorce to our children. AMEN!

I am not as active on MB as I was in the past, but continue to pray for my brothers and sisters for reconciliation.

H and I are getting better and better! He has moved all his stuff (plus new "junk" accumulated over 3 years!) back home, and we are on a path of committment to fixing our dead M, this time with God as the Center, always!

We are extremely active in the wonderful, Faith-filled church God led me to while H was "away." He loves it as much as I do, and they have all welcomed him with open, loving arms. He almost signed up to go on a missions trip to Dominica in January, but he doesn't have a Passport, nor does he have his Birth Certificate, and it will take too long to get a duplicate of that document in time for the trip. He really wanted to go, Pastor wanted him to go, and I know God would have done an amazing work through him down there. Ah, well, God has other plans for him during that time, I guess.

Please add this to our list of answered prayers as testimony to others who are Standing that GOD DOES ANSWER OUR PRAYERS FOR RECONCILIATION! It is His desire for us. We just need to know that, believe that, and rest in it.

I hope this serves to boost someone's faith this week as they pray and BELIEVE. As God did it for me and my H, God can do this for you!

God Bless all my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Disappointed for me, happy for you.

TB </font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Tony,

I feel your pain, bro. I really do. BTDT, you know.

But here are a couple of things I learned in 3 years:

Number 1: ALWAYS be happy for others when their marriages reconcile. As Joyce Meyer teaches, sometimes God will allow us to be in a position to see and hear of others' blessings just to "test" us and see if we exhibit the same love Christ would exhibit toward them, not jealousy. She describes it this way: "Think of yourself - no - picture yourself - standing in a line, like at the bank. Think of this as the "Blessings line." Eventually everyone will get to the teller's window, and be able to Withdraw what they have stood in line for. "Your turn will come in line." Whenever you read about someone else's blessing, just say to yourself, "I'm in that line! I'll get to the Blessing Window eventually too!! And then I'll walk away with the Blessings I am praying for."

Number 2: Only God knows the reasons why it happens for some sooner than others. And BTW (my own opinion here), but I believe God desires ALL marriages to be reconciled,, so it really IS just a matter of faith and resting in His Promises.

Not trying to "beat ya up" - my brother - just pointing out some lessons I learned along the way which helped me become peaceful while I waited for God.

If I were to really try to answer "What am I doing wrong?" - I really couldn't answer it! I would simply direct you to Christ! Only He would know what He's waiting on in answering your prayers and reconciling your M! All I know is - HE DOES WANT TO DO THIS. HE WILL DO THIS IN HIS TIME.

Draw closer to Him. Rest in Him. Above all, seek Peace. I think this is the thing I finally found which gave me the best sense of His Presence.

The Peace was the best gift, Tony.

Seek His Peace.

God Bless,

Hi there

I've been battling with the same issues the past 4 months, trying to find the answer to why God doesn't have a quick fix in pplace for my marriage. I sometimes try to accept that he has a plan for both me and my W, and that it will eventually work out for bth of us.

You make me humble when I see that you've waited for 3 years to get together, and here I am after 4 months, wanting to give up. I sometimes wonder what I am going to do until God decides that now is the right time for the 2 of us. Will my faith be strong enough. Will I still be true to my W or will I start having sex with other women? I don't know!

Everything said I also believe that its His will that oour M will be reconciled, the question is if my faith is strong enough.
