Hi, guys. Started my party too early last night and actually got sleepy (Yay for me!)so I crashed about midnight (my time). Didn't last though.
OK, update. Went to dinner Friday w/ BIL who decided (I think w/ MIL's prompting) I needed to get out of the house (he's so sweet). 'Course you know what (who) we talked about. Still, nice to get out. Seems the family is as confused as I am.
Got some info on Sweetie. Remember, that sweet little girl who only needs some help and a chance who doesn't deserve what people say about her? Cat fight at work. H took her back to MIL's and she behaved horribly! Flirted w/ H's cousin, profanity, racial slurs, put H down when he asked her to be nice. I LOVE IT!!! MIL is digusted. Hopefully, so is H. MY old H would've been! MIL was pretty hard on her, too, once they got alone. Made her so mad she jumped up and left! FIL came out to speak to H and when he saw her, turned on his heels and walked in the house! Cousin, as they walked out of the gate, stood up and yelled "OK, answer me one question - where is Lori and what the hell is he doing w/ that piece of trash!!!" MIL said there was no way they didn't hear.
H called Sat am and said he was "in town", could he come by and get a couple of things. Sure - as I jumped up, threw on clothes and makeup (still competing w/ Sweetie you know. She's only 22 and probably looks great right out of bed!) and was fixing breakfast for the girls (another sleepover) when he walked in - calm as you please (if he had seen the 15 minute chaos before he'd have died laughing). Once again he went to the bathroom and shaved (once again didn't take his razor and stuff) and we talked and laughed - just general conversation for an hour or so. (You guys have trained me well - my behavior has been EXQUISITE!!! I only go beserk after he leaves!) Asked if he could take a few more clothes (I can't get over that!) Didn't take everything again. Talked for 20 minutes about my going to dinner w/ BIL. My Brother? He paid?? My brother's moving in on my wife? (Excuse me???)
"What're you doing in town?" "Well, the storm woke me up about 5 and I just headed in this direction." OKK....
A couple of strange things that have my head spinning (besides that we enjoyed each other's company). We were talking about getting the truck to the mechanic. He said "Whether I come back or whatever I decide to do, we need to go ahead and get it fixed." I let it pass, but my heart stopped. He's never said ANYTHING except that he didn't love me, hadn't loved me for months and that our marriage was over and he never wanted to be married again. We've never even DISCUSSED his coming back - timing not right if you know what I mean. Asked if I was still gonna sell the house. I said probably. "My mom is thinking of buying 60 acres here and building a house and then selling lots to the kids to live around her - you could go in w/ her." "That's for HER family, H - she wouldn't want us there" "I've discovered in the last couple of weeks that my family really loves you - they'd love to have you around, more than me, I think." (He'd been saying during his bad brain months that they hated me and I didn't like them.) When he went out to put his clothes in the car, he didn't come back in. I looked out and he was cutting grass!!! (We have 5 acres and it was out of hand - daughter and I can't keep up). He came in and said "Man, I'm late, I gotta meet Charlie. Look, I put some heavy stuff in the trash cans so I'll come back after work Tuesday night and put them out for you guys and cut some more grass so you don't have to do it." "You don't have to do that." "no, I'll be here Tuesday, so don't worry about the trash or the grass." It's at least an hour's drive each way for him to get here - to put out the trash????? Oh, and he's NOT living w/ Sweetie (probably staying a night or two, but not living there). He grabbed a couple of books. "I seem to have a lot of time for reading, is it ok if I take these?" Sure. (They were his books anyway.) Well, here then, do you have a VCR? Yes. I gave him his favorite movie. He just stood and looked at me. Thanks, Baby. (Baby? haven't heard that in a while.)
Talked w/ daughter for a few minutes. Hasn't spoken w/ her since the night he left and he told her we had never given him anything except grief (told you he got mean.) Sat it was "I'm so proud of you, Sweetheart. Your mom told me how you got your honors classes and made the audition and everything at your new school. I can't wait to hear you sing. I'll be talking to you guys and your mom can let me know when you're performing." Sweetheart - like my old H. For 2 months he's been cussing and screaming at her. (From a man who has NEVER cussed in front of his daughter.) She was so good too. Remember how angry she was - never wanted to see his face again. She was guarded, but talkative and appreciated his effort.
Daughter brought in the mail and he took it and started opening the power bill. I looked at him funny. He grinned (God that grin makes me melt - I think that's what made me fall in love w/ him!). "Well, it's got my name on it!" "I know what. I'll get the yard and grass in shape and we'll buy some cheap paint and invite the family over for a work party/barbeque. It'll be fun and we'll have a lot of help getting things in shape for selling the house." HUH???? Big hug and out the door.
Sorry for the blow by blow, but I need to know. Am I being stupid or do you guys think he MAY be starting to think and look at things a little differently? You know this roller coaster - I'm afraid to hope, but I can't seem to help myself. Already anticipating Tuesday - what to wear (contrived casual, as usual), how to act, what to expect. Scary!!!!! Any thoughts anyone? Maybe I'll post this book in another thread and get some more input, too?
Talk to you guys later.
-Lori
