I am getting close to the end of my rope. My husband is seriouosly neglecting his family (me and three kids). He has been dx'd with depression, anxiety disorder, and has a chronic illness (that isn't life threatening, but makes him feel bad and unable, at least in his eyes, to be very active with the family). We are youngish and have young children and this is a huge drain on us/me. My H tends to not take care of himself physically, which upsets me to no end. I also think he could be more proactive in helping himself get over his anxiety/depression, but he doesn't. We are currently in marriage counseling together. I, myself, find myself slipping into depression. Please pray for my family. I don't think my husband realizes that our children's childhoods are slipping away and he'll never get this time back with them.
God bless, Kay M.

Hi Kay,
Praying for you. What kind of support group do you have? Church? Family? Friends? How are they helping or how can they help better?
Blessing to you and your family.

I attend church with my children, but honestly I am not involved as I could be. I don't know why I hold back, but I do.
We do not have family in the area where we live and I've let friendships slip by the wayside.
My best girlfriend moved several states away 3 years ago and I think I've been wary of getting too close to someone else due to fear that they will leave and I'll get hurt again. I've met a few women since then that I could have developed a friendship with, but either they were here for a very short period of time, or our schedules never did click.
I know I need to cultivate a support system, but I lack motivation. This is something my H wants me to work on, so you are hitting a nail right on the head.
Thanks for your prayers.
Kay M.
