One of my favorite quotes:
"Fear Not"--God.
God is so specific on not fearing the world and not worrying and what do we find ourselves doing? With my H just coming home I fear the past, I fear the future even though I know all I have to do is trust God. If this is so tough for me, and I've existed on my faith these past months (when I'm not trying to do God's job myself, of course [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]) how much more difficult is it for my H who admits to a crisis of faith?
I pray that fear of his past actions, nor fear of the future will not rule over my husband. I pray that the love, forgiveness, and mercy of God permeates his being and he finds rest in God's goodness and walks a path of righteousness.

------------------
Lor
"Do not get tired of doing what is right, for after awhile you will reap a harvest of blessings if you do not get discouraged and give up. (Gal 6:9)

Lor,
I'm in the same boat as you on this one. I have been very fearful of what's going to happen, and what has happened in the past. There's this nagging fear in my head that keeps coming back "What if he cheats on me again? What if he increases his drinking" etc. I have to do better in turning it all over to God. I'm just so anxious for a resolution I guess. I trust that God is working in his life and have faith in Him. So why do these thoughts keep coming back?
I think I need to say this prayer for me more than him now.

This chapter was especially of interest to me because my H says his main fear is of being abandoned, everything impacts him in this context and has him frozen. Pushes me away, responds negatively, makes highly difficult demands which, when aren't met, affirms his fears, etc. I find it difficult to continually respond to him in an affirming respectful way or to have respect for him when I continually have to "baby" him to reassure him that I will not leave him.
Father, I rebuke the evil one and renounce any power or influence he has over my husband. In the name of Jesus, I ask that you release him from this bondage and fill him with your everlasting love to overflowing, that he feels your mighty confidence from the gift of the cross to know without a doubt that he is never abandoned. Let this confidence allow him to reach beyond to others, give him your peace as he does the work to be free from the hurts of the past to allow us to grow as one in you. Help me to be sensitive to him in this process, give me your holy sensitivity, wisdom, insight and compassion to encourage and build him up. thank you for this opportunity for both of us to grow in you.

Fear! That was the reason for my H staying in the EA for more then a decade. Anyone else buy that? Well I had to. So, fear has a real impact on who my man is and who he trusts in. Obviously not God. He said he was afraid that if he told me the truth I would leave him. So, he stayed captive to a harlot. Again I ask, does anyone believe it? Trust God or leave! That was the choice I had. I decided to trust God.
Lord, Help me to trust you no matter how I feel about what my husband says is the truth. You alone are the truth. Release my H from the fear which seems to of crippled and captivated him. Let not another person or situation blind him to the truth that you set the captives free. Cause him to realize that You alone can protect us from Satan and the deception of creatures who seek to destroy us.

Yup fear is the cause for alot of actions I think!! I heard that fear is alot of the time, the primary emotion to the secondary action of anger... I believe it!!! I ask the Lord to really lay "the peace that passes all understanding" in my husbands life, that the panic and anxiety attacks cease, and that his dreams are not constantly a source of fear... Father that the fear that leads him to believe he may be unhappy someday in our marriage and thus needs to keep a door open to the OW be stopped immediatly.. God also the fears that attack me because of these fears of my husbands... Thank you for your perfect love in my life that casts out fear.. I rest in your love Jesus... Amen
cozy

Fear-
That is a big problem in our home in the past as well as right now. My husband's biggests fear right now is that he will never be the husband he was meant to be because of what he did. He also fears being like his parents. He constanly felt abandoned by them.
I think a lot of what is causing him to hang on to the OW is a fear of the future of our marriage. He is afraid that we won't be able to get past it and things for 'us' will never be O.K. again.
My biggest fear is that the OW will always be 'there' in our lives. That he will never be able to completely let go of her. He will always feel the need to send her a quick greeting or just say hi.
Lord, I pray that I will trust in you to take care of our marriage and in that trust I will begin to trust Arik again. I pray that my actions and words will show Arik that 'we' will be O.K. so he can let go of her. I pray that you will show Arik how he can still be the husband I was meant to have.
Amen
------------------
Love and Prayers
Nicole
