A breakthrough I think -- Today, for the first time in almost 14 years, my husband went to church with me. Praise God!!!
He did the usual excuses again this morning. I told him I was going to go get ready for church, he told me "why don't you just skip church today, we have so much to do". He always has an excuse for why he can't go. I told him no I wasn't skipping, I wanted to go. I started getting ready, and lo and behold, he got ready too and said he would go with me. He did make a remark that he was only going because he didn't want me mad at him all day for not going. Guess he remembered his promise he made last week. I was surprised that he said he was only going so I wouldn't be mad at him because whenever he refuses to go, I don't get mad, I just say "ok", give him a kiss, and go on by myself.
I have been thrilled all day today. I truly believe our prayers are working. Thank you Lord for your positive reinforcement today. Help me to stay on course learning to be the kind of Christian wife you want me to be. I thank you for all you have done in my life and marriage, and pray for the praying wives and their husbands. Help them to overcome the obstacles that are hindering complete reconciliation. Be with them, dear Lord and continue to speak to their husbands' hearts. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Dear AW: Hooray! PTL! I am so happy the Lord is moving in your lives. He is definitely at work in our home, too. My H said yesterday that the Lord has used this to bring us closer to Christ (with tears in his eyes). The Holy Spirit is surely at work in him. And he also agreed to drop the court case against the OW (see Decisions post if interested). I am so grateful. I feel we can move full steam ahead without her in our lives. I saw her yesterday for the first time and it was hard. But I kept quiet and trusted in the Lord to fill my heart and put a right spirit within me. I am so excited to see our prayers answered. Let's keep praying for each other, Ladies. God is awesome! J

AW,
That is a huge breakthrough! We can all rejoice with you over this news. God is so good and He is truly at work in your marriage as well as so many others on this forum. I am so thankful to Lor for getting this thing started. I've always known prayer to be powerful but it is absolutely awesome how God's power is impacting our lives and those of our husband's.
For those who haven't seen changes yet just hold on it will blow you over when it happens. I think alot of us have had our hope restored since beginning this book. PTL!

Yes, prayer is powerful. My H went to church with us Christmas Eve also. I just keep thanking God over and over for this small step forward. I know God is working in our lives, and hears our prayers. My dad came through his surgery well also. The doctors are elated, as well as my family. You're right Taj, even though we may not see results right away, if we keep faith and keep praying things will start happening. I know I've had my faith restored 10 times overe since beginning reading this book!
