Seems like we all may be avoiding starting dialoge on this chapter. Yup, it is a tough one if only due to the very first sentence.
"Integrity is not what you appear to be when all eyes are on you. It's who you are when no one is looking."
Well, that pretty much sums up where integrity went, right out the window.
Now, where do we begin to pray for our H's in light of that? Since forgiveness is the start of everything and repentence is a must our prayers can't go beyond that point until our H's have truly experienced Godly sorrow for their actions.
"A man of integrity says something and means it. He doesn't play verbal games so you never really know where he stands."
The dance of lies is something that is really hard to take, maybe we need to pray for ourselves to love in spite of the lies until they cease and truth is foremost.
"Integrity happens in the heart. Therefore, being a man of integrity is something your husband must choose to do on his own". pg 118
Again we cannot be the Holy Spirit but we can be a prayer warrior.
Father, Help our H's fight the enemy of their souls. Cause them to see this is a decision that they must make on their own whether or not to be a man of integrity. Shield them from anything that causes them to doubt and waver. Give them strength to do what is right-even when no one is looking.
Grant us the wisdom to pray for our H's according to your will and keep us on our knees until the victory is won. IJN

Yes, Taj, I have avoided this chapter.
It is especially painful for me because his Christian commitment is what I found so attractive when we first met.
I do pray for the Holy Spirit to draw him back, as Stormie says, they have to choose a life of integrity.
blessings, liz
------------------
"I have found the Pearl of Great Price"

[This message has been edited by POGP (edited January 07, 2000).]

I looked at this prayer, and said to myself "My husband needs me to pray this for him EVERY morning" I see its a shorter one too so I can start with it and then go to another area that H is having problems with.
I cant change H I can only change me, and that is only done by surrendering to God to let Him do the changing... I think prayer is a "SMART START"!
cozy

Oh boy do I agree with you all on this one! My H doesn't know what integrity means. I have been seriously shocked by some of the things I've found out that he did when alone when he knew he wouldn't get caught (besides his affair!). Thank you Taj for your prayer. I'm going to print it out right now and start praying your prayer every day for my H. Thank you so much for your wonderful wisdom!

POGP, Cozy and AW,
My H went to a Promise Keepers Seminar when he was knee deep in sin. They talk about being a man of integrity. I remember him saying how ashamed he was to sit there when he was living in sin. Integrity begins with honesty and my H is finally being honest. I truly believe this is a mighty work of God and He will make our husbands again men of integrity.
Lets keep the faith no matter how things look at the present. I believe in a God of miracles.
Love, Taj/Cathy

cozy,
I wish I could give you our names, but in keeping with the POJA, I cannot give that info out. My husband said he has no problem with me staying involved in this forum, but he feels violated if I give out specifics and details.
My mother always called me Lizzie, tho it is not my given name. My husband is seeking right now, just pray for him that way. The Lord knows the number of hairs, gray and otherwise, so I think he'll know who you mean ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
love,
lizzie\pearl
------------------
"I have found the Pearl of Great Price"

[This message has been edited by POGP (edited January 07, 2000).]

John 14:6, Jesus says "I am the Way the Truth and the Life".
Lord lead us in truth. Align us so strongly with you, the truth, that our husbands will be attracted to YOU! that truth will be as addictive to them as the lies were. Lord protect us and give us discernment. We place ourselves in this position willingly-please use us to bring our husbands to a place of total integrity. we eagerly wait and look forward to the day we can give testimony that You have brought us up...Rev.12:11 "They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony."
one more thing Lord, help me overcome the fear/paranoia that he is lying even now. i pray that your perfect love will cast out all fear---that i can trust you, be my shield and my fortress.

In November, my H bought me a little women's devotional book and a men's for himself. I was so glad he was turning to God's word. I found his in his briefcase today and opened it to the bookmark to see what he was reading. It was the section on "Integrity". Our prayers are working!
