Thanks for asking. I do not know exactly. I am guessing late morning or early afternoon. I would really appreciate everyone's prayers. This will be the first time we have had a casual meeting for a chat in a long time. I figured if the ow could essentially do this when we were still living together, I could use the same tactic while he has moved out. I have come so much closer to God since using this book and praying non stop for my husband. Luke 18:1-8 is a great example and an encouragement. He has really drawn me to Him. God is an awesome God. I pray that the timing is right that I have not jumped ahead of God's timing. I really am expecting nothing and everything. I believe God will be in the middle of this. I believe He will perfect this marriage. I just want to sit and talk like the old days. I have no goal except that. I plan to stay away from the topic of us. I could not have done this even two weeks ago. It would have been too hard. But God has so increased my faith in Him, the living God. I pray for God to work through this time. I pray that my husband will see me in a different light from a different perspective. I pray that we can talk non stop about everything. I just pray for a nice time and that it touches my husband's heart. I pray that Jesus draws my husband to Him. I pray all this for God's glory and in His will. Thanks for asking Alcoholic's wife.

HW, thanks for giving me a timetable fopr your coffee chat with your husband. I will keepl up the prayer vigil for you and your husband all morning. Your faith in God is such an inspiration, thank you for posting your thoughts on this board. It helps me so much to hear encouragement from fellow Christians about saving a marriage. So many people of the world tell me to get rid of my
H, that he's a jerk who's using me, etc. I believe in God and I believe in God's miracles. Hw, I believe God is working in your husband's life. Our prayers will make a difference.

AW, Thank you so much for your encouragement. I know what you mean. I don't talk about this with too many people other than the few Christian friends because they support me and encourage me. I don't need to hear the rest. Please also pray that I will keep the focus of Jesus. That I will not get my hopes up in my husband but have my hopes in Jesus. That is where I need to be. In the past I have hoped on him. Impossible, for what is impossible with man is possible with God.
In my prayer time this morning I was reminded of a verse in Deutronomy that someone gave me several years ago when this first started.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid ot terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you." Deut 31:6
and
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you! Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deut 31:8
Praise the Lord. He does go before us. I also pray that God will work in our marriages in ways we can not even imagine. For He is Lord. If He is for us, who can be against us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise the Lord, We will stand and see His glory .
Thank you for the encouragement. I needed to hear this scripture. Please see my other post from this morning. It's been a bad night. I feel like such a failure.
I've been praying for you this morning - for your meeting. I praise God that He has allowed this opportunity to come up in your life. I will be praying the same words you are so that we are "two or more gathered before him in prayer".
How have you held up for so long? I guess I am just so weak that the Lord knows I can't handle it on my own. God bless you Hw, your faith is awesome.

AW,
It is not all easy and I have cried 6 rivers of tears, but God always brings me back to him. Stay in Me He says. Even if it never works out, I will be healed in Jesus. I find I have to pray several times a day and spend most of Wed in prayer with the internet group I joined that prays for everyone's marriages. Addictions are a tough one to beat. I work in a substance abuse clinic as an intern. I don't pretend to know that much about addiction but my clients are teaching me. It is so hard for the addict to see themselves as they are from inside the addiction. Butmany do recover and leave it behind. I be;lieve God is moire than able to handle this situation but yes, prayer is what you will have to be diligent about, yes for your husband but for you. God Bless. I will continue praying.

What's the URL for the prayer group that prays for marriages? I'd like to pray with them too.
My husband has been addicted to alcohol for almost 30 years. He started drinking when he was 12, and has lived a life of destruction, centered around alcohol abuse. Why he picked me to marry I'll never figure out. I don't drink at all, don't take drugs or smoke, have been a born again Christian since I was 12, and grew up in a happy, God loving, Christian family with parents who loved each of us, and each other. Prayer was an integral part of each of our lives every day. My husband's childhood consisted of extreme physical abuse by his father, a passive mother who just wrung her hands and said "I just don't know what to do"; he was a juvenile delinquent, was kicked out of school in 8th grade, had his first DWI at 17, has been in jail numerous times, including several convictions for assault, all of which centered around drinking alcohol. My husband's mother attended church, but didn't make it a priority in her life, or her children's lives. God must have put me into his life for a reason, I believe that reason was to show him Christian love.
Through all that has happened between us, and throughout his life, my husband will not acknowledge that alcohol is the common denominator in all his troubles. He has an excuse for everything, and blames all his problems on someone else (usually me). He is in denial to himself about the level of his addiction. He is oblivious to the destruction he is causing. His health is getting bad. But yet, drinking is still all he wants to do when not at work. I wish I could understand, but I don't. I do love him with all my heart and soul and will stand by him as long as God wants me to.
Thanks again for your prayers. You are truly a jewel. Your husband is crazy not to want to be with you every minute of every day!!!
Love to you and God bless you hw,
AW
