MTAW,
Boy where to start!....Please continue to pray for me and my children. That they will find comfort and I will keep my relationship with God growing and strong. That I will be able to let the Lord go before me in everything I say and do.
That my H's heart will be softened to me and the kids. That God will drive a wedge between him and OW. That her heart will turn to someone who doesn't have a family attached. And that my H's heart will turn home. And they will both be instructed to do what is right in their sleep.
Thanks MTAW, I know God is on our sides and with Him and each other, we can't lose!
Prayers,
Mitzi
Two praises, one prayer request.
As I have posted before, I've been waiting and hoping for my h. to agree to pray with me. Sunday night when we got back from skiing (a great quick trip) and fell into bed, I lit the candle he had given me for V'day, (getting his attention), grabbed his hand and said "sit up please".
He did (thinking I was amorous!), and I prayed a quick, short 'thanks God for a good trip' prayer. He didn't mind at all. It had been our tradition in the past to begin and end every vacation or road trip with prayer. No big catharsis, but progress in that he didn't roll over or pull away as he has for the past two years.
Second praise:
h. says he intends to submit himself for church discipline. This step would cement his good intentions for me, since he will be required to do whatever the elders ask him to in order to again function fully as a member (communion, voting, leading in any capacity).
I see it as an essential step, because if he hasn't done any growing spiritually by August 18 (confession day) next summer, I will ask him for a separation.
He knows that I never intend to be permanently yoked with him if he cannot renew his vows with a clean heart. I haven't threatened anything, just stated that I know what is necessary for my healing and I believe I am called to be married to someone who can keep covenant.
Request: that my h. will contact his mentor elder and officially request discipline. This will mean going before the elders, a humbling experience that I think will change his life.
Thank you.
Lizzie
------------------

"I have found the Pearl of Great Price"
Please pray that I stay in Jesus. My focus is on Him. Pray that God will move my husband to pick up the Bible and read God's word. Pray that God instruct him even in his sleep. Pray that Christians are put in his path and that God brings him to the place where he can see Jesus. Pray God continue to drive a wedge between he and the ow. Pray God put a hedge of protection around my 16 year old while she is on spring break next week. I praise God for where He has me and all He is doing in my life.
Thanks AW

Oh man, Lizzie, that is the most awesomeest thing I have heard lately. What courage to go before the elders! It sounds to me like God is really working on him and also that he is really trying to do all he can to keep the pearl of great price.
Prayers for me...that I will stand firm with the personal boundaries, that I will keep my mouth shut unless instructed by the Spirit and that I will speak truths in love no matter how my husband responds. Also, that I will have wisdom to discern when my safety is at risk and take the necessary steps for safety out of my commitment for my marriage and my husband. (Will write in another post what Pastor said today)

Thanks again,MTAW, for the opportunity to get all our prayers summarized. It is so helpful to be able to print them out and have them readily available.Today on my lunch break, seeing as how I was fasting,I just sat in my car and prayed for us all for my 45 minute break! Not as easily distracted during fasting days.......Praise God!Keep praying!
God Bless you,MTAW,and everyone here!
Update......H. did return Christian biker's phone call, but said it was too cold to ride, but here's some God news-I had no time to be discouraged(no time for the enemy to invade my mind)because my husband and I ran an errand together, and then went to eat at a favorite restaurant, and my goodness, while my H went to wash his hands, right in the front part on his way to go to his table(in a totally different room than us) was a Christian biker!(They wear, on their leathers, a large cross with "Bikers for Jesus")PTL, this was the guy's(who had called my H to ride)best friend! Well, I hope I didn't get in the way of the Lord's work by approaching this guy(We were seated way in the back and the chances were next to nothing that my H would have even seen him)and asked him if he would talk my H into riding! Well, I brought him to meet H, and although he couldn't talk him into it,(H. had his share of riding in the cold over the Holidays)the connection was made, and it looks like they will see each other soon!God Willing!
Prayer request continues, please, for God to place Believing Christians in husband's path, the Lord to change me, patience, God to restore our marriage, and God to change H's heart about separating.
Quick question re: fasting. I am under the impression that to fast is to just drink water, is this correct?

Love and prayers,IJN,
Joynicole

Joynicole,
When I fast I just do without overindulging. I'm hypoglycemic and can't go without eating, so God understands.
I think you could maybe commit to fasting thru one or two meals. Or just sticking to veggies for the day. Something like that.
Prayers,
Mitzi

JN, What wonderful, encouraging news!!! There is SOOOOOO MUCH POWER IN PRAYER!
And you don't have to ask, I'm still praying for your H to have Christians placed in his path! We will be victorious in Christ!
About fasting, I don't eat anything usually for 12 hours or so, but I do drink coffee and water. (I love my coffee!)
Love and prayers to you, JoyNicole!
MTAW

I pretty much drink what i want while fasting. If i go more than a day i add some orange juice. But I drink my ice tea and water and sometimes not tea. I have done 2 1/2 days once. I'm going to try 2 days. I feel the need to really spend the time with God. I read somewhere today that after about 5 days you lose the pains of not eating. Also it said after 6-7 days there is a different level you reach with praying. Sounds interesting I don't know I'd last. Something to pray about. Then there are those like Mitzi that have medical issues, and they fast the way that is safest for thim. The real point is not the exact way you do it, but the motivation and devotion to Christ. It is a sacrifice to the Lord not because He demands it but because you love Him and you want to get close to Him. The important thing is to do it unto God. The Bible says and when you fast do it privately and do not look like you are fasting (woo is me) but put on your joyful spirit. Of course these are not the exact words but the intention. Pray for God's Spirit to lead you. He will in His will!!! Amen.

The only thing that has changed for me is God put my divorce on hold for another 90 days. My husband still lives with his girlfriend. My husband is still drinking. I praise God while doing all of this he is listening to Christian music.

Brown,
If he's listening to Christian music, I would take that as a good sign! I am so uplifted by Christian music, and the lyrics praising God are sure to be an inspiration to him. Pray without ceasing Brown. God will be victorious in this marriage!!! PTL
Love and hugs {{{{{{BROWN}}}}}}
MTAW

Rootbeer,
I do feel its a good sign. God blessed me so well today, learning my husband was listening to Christian music, then my Attorney being able to put the divorce on hold for 90 days, In the mail I recieved a letter from Joyce Myers Ministries and the top of the page says "Your not going to give up, God's not going to let you and neither are we". Three beautiful blessings from God today. What a miracle, God always comes through with something when we are down. I praise our God. All the Glory to God. I Thank God for you all to. Your prayers and words of wisdom help me so much. God's blessings to everyone.

I wanted to share this with you all. I recieve the Times Square Church Pulpit Series, in the mail. Today I discovered you can also see it on line at www.tscpulpitseries.org I like this one also. As you all know that I'm standing in the gap for my husband and family. I recieved the first of these scpritures when I needed it the most, If you go to it look up the cover letter for Oct. 4,1999 and Feb.7,2000, also the related bible studys. Their are approx. 2yrs. of his bible studys here and I think their great. On the two dates I mentioned are the ones I recieved on the days I needed them them most. Of course it was about not giving up on your marriage and how God restores and heals. Our wonderful God he is always with us. I do hope you check this out and enjoy these studys as well. God Bless

These are great Brown. Thank you for posting this link. I needed some more inspiration as today is going to be a rough day. My H is said he is to start the Batterer's Intervention counseling program today, unless he has to work late and then he will start tomorrow. Please everyone pray that this program is filled with devoted Christians!
