Speaking from personal experience....
I too have a husband who is not a Christian. It was a struggle most of the time, until I recently submitted myself to the Lord. I am slowly learning through His word, Patience, long suffering, and peace. His promises are real and He is faithful. ( what earthly man do that? )
I used to suffer from the verbal, physical, & mental abuse thrown my way by my husband, until I turned my life over to God.
I am growing.... I am becomming a stronger, more devoted servant. And i am witnessing things in our life that i never thought possible. I know the Lord is working in my husbands life, and that is such a relief not to carry that burden myself with anymore.. I am strong in Him... I learned that the hard way. He has great plans for all of us, and I am so excited .. PTL !!!
I also wanted to say, that there is no distance in prayer..... God brought Mitzi and I together even though we live hundreds of miles apart , when we needed each other the most !!!
Chris,
Thanks for posting that!
You are not the only one who has suffered the abuse. Sometimes I wonder why I ever put up with it. But I love Bob and I know that somehow God is working on him. I just can't see it yet. But that's ok, I'll see it when he wants me to.
I get a lot of my strength knowing that there are people praying for me and my family who don't even know me. And I believe God will answer all of our prayers. It may not be the outcome we hope for or in the time we want but His will will be done. He will do what is best for us.
Take care,
Mitzi

Yes, Chrissie, you are so right! God is faithful, he will make all things beautiful in his time!
Thank you for posting, sounds like we've got some things in common. I, too, am married to someone who is not a Christian (yet) and has been abusive. Since I've been praying through the Power of a Praying Wife, I've seen several positive changes in me, that can only come from God. He has shown me so many things about my life that I needed to fix, and has been right beside me through all of this. PTL!!!
God bless, and I'm so glad you're here with us!!!!

Yes, our God does make things beautiful! Yesterday I received the following verses/statements in emails, just when I needed to hear them.
Kindness is one of God's best gifts to the world. It drives gloom and darkness from the soul. Discover the sweetness of your human nature and lighten your burden of weariness.
Proverbs 31:12 "She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life."
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." - James 1:5
God continues to tell me that I need to work on my relationship with him, every day. Thank you God for your gentle reminders.
