Well, this one has been a difficult chapter for me. Right now my H is walking down the wrong path. But, God is working on him, and one day my H will be walking on the path towards the Lord.
"Most of all we are to walk a path of holiness". Page 164, 1st paragraph. I pray that I will stay on the path towards holiness. I pray that one day soon my H will walk on this path with me. My problem is that I want to run ahead on the path, and make the path go my direction. That's not the way He intended. Here again I go back to Chapter One - CHANGE ME LORD.
I'm taking Stormie's advice, "Pray for your husband to find it, pray that he is guided by God's Holy Spirit."
Thank you Lord for planting seeds of faith in our H's hearts, thank you Lord for instilling the desire to walk the right path in our husbands. Help us to walk this path to holiness with them, guiding every step we take. Help us and our husbands to walk in the Spirit. IJN AMEN.

The term "Highway of Holiness" really got me. That is the way we are all to walk. Our husbands are no different then we are. This "highway" is the only way to walk and have God's blessing in our lives. This is a hard way, not an easy way. It means we have to make choices that our God's not ours. Sometimes obedience means we have to make decisions which are very difficult, but if we know God's will and don't do it that is a sin of omission. The "Highway of Holiness".
Later in the chapter Stormie refers to Jeremiah 10:23, "O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps". That doesn't refer to believers alone, it says "it is not in man". We all are incapable in and of ourselves to direct our own steps. Wow! That sets you back on your heels!!!!!
Lord, I pray that you will direct my husbands steps. Lead him in Your light, teach him Your way, so he will walk in Your truth. Show our husbands the narrow way, guide our husbands by Your Holy Spirit, help our husbands to stay on Your path by having faith in Your Word. Father, grow our husbands into Your image. Help us as wives to be faithful to pray and support our husbands in ways which will lead them to a deeper relationship with You. IJN

------------------
"Perfect love casts out fear" I John 4:18

This chapter struck me again today. I was thinking earlier about the events of the day and the thought popped in my head about praying for my husband to walk with the Lord.
Today he took the wrong path. I had been feeling for a few days that he was headed down the path of destruction. Guess the Spirit was preparing me for today. H had promised to spend the afternoon with our son and his friends playing paintball since he only had to work until noon. He called around 12:30 saying he had to stop by a friend's to help him move a trailer, said he'd be home shortly. Son and friends started playing anyway. By 4:00 PM H hadn't shown up, he called at 4:30, drunk. S wasn't happy at all. H finally showed up plastered about 7:30. Before he got home I prayed and prayed for the Lord to hold my tongue, and shine through me. I was so calm, and nice to H - major difference!
Anyway, even though H strayed off the path that the Lord wants him to take, He worked it out for His good. S gave Dad a lecture on spending the day drinking and not with him. God is teaching me patience, kindness, and meekness.
Thank you Lord, for being with me and my son today, comforting us. Thank you for helping me to stay focused on walking the right path with You. And, thank you for working in all of our husbands' lives, guiding them towards the path You want them to walk. Your unending love for us is awesome. All praises and glory to You, God. IJN, AMEN.
