Isn't it amazing how God can take something so negative and turn it around for His good? I can't get over the look on David's face.
He had to work today, so while we had coffee I asked him if I could read him a verse. I read a couple lines from Eph 5 that come after what I said last night. "So ought men love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourished and cherished it, even as the Lord does for the Church." He didn't get mad, walk off, or shut me off; just sat there.
I'll leave it at that for now. I don't want him to think I'm trying to shove God down his throat. I will be praying even harder for him (as well as the other H's). It's all a spiritual battle, a battle that is going to get horribly worse before it gets better. Thank you ladies for your prayerful support.
SueB, I got chills when I read your post, for at 12:49 AM (the time your response posted) I was in bed praying for God to instruct David as he sleeps, deliver him from alcohol, and keep Satan away and open David's eyes and ears to Him! We were praying in agreement and didn't even know it!
Karenna, you are right. It is our duty as Christians to proclaim Jesus, speak the truth always, and we must do it in a non-threatening or condemning way. We should pray that God go before us in every contact with our husbands, and keep us strong so that we can stand on his Word.
hw - Seeds have been planted now I've got to learn how to be the gardener God wants me to be. I have been succumbing to the enemy a lot lately, in fact I was so nervous and upset yesterday I tried to pray but couldn't get my heart into it. It seems that if I am not constantly rebuking Satan, he latches right on to me, causing me to say all the wrong things, filling my head with thoughts of "I might as well give up, David doesn't really love me anyway; I've been a fool taking him back; etc". I failed the test miserably these last few days, have been really depressed and doubting everything. Today I've got to pray for the Spirit to re-overtake me. Its a good thing we're having a special service tomorrow -- the pastor said Wed. night to be sure to be in church Sun. if we need an infilling or re-filling of the Holy Spirit because there was a special speaker coming. I want my infilling now!
hw - I just looked at the time on your post, 12:27 AM. At 12:25 AM last night I had just laid down and started my prayers. I prayed until 12:50 something. That was the last time I looked at the clock before I fell asleep. We were all praying in agreement! The power of the Holy Spirit overwhelms me.
Thank you Lord for these wonderful prayer partners. I thank you Lord for leading me to this website and this forum. I am so thankful for our fellowship, a fellowship that You brought together. All praise and all glory is Yours, Lord. Father, I praise you and thank you for these dear sisters that were praying with me last night, and I didn't even know it. I see your hand in so many things in our lives, and thank you for it. Lord I praise You and worship You this morning. Please be with each of us as we go through this day. I pray that you will protect us from the enemy today, and place angels all around us to fight the battle with the enemy for us. Thank You Lord for loving us so much. IJN AMEN

Very wise dear Sister to share a verse and then drop it and allow the Lord to nurture the seed.
Father, we thank You for these opportunities to come together in prayer, united in heart for the things of You. We are grateful for the Spirit to lay similar thoughts on all our minds that with the Spirit interceding we can be one in prayer. Thank You for this intercession, for uniting our hearts for Your glory and for considering our desires as important.
Continue to teach us to be the women You would have us be, mold us into Your likeness and develop Your character so that our minds are one with You. Teach our husbands to be the servant/leaders that You have designed them to be and show us how to support htem in their role. IJN, Amen.
