Why would an OW, especially one who was a mother, want a man who would leave his children for any reason? How could they expect him to be a good stepfather to their children? It seems that they must not value the role of the father in the family very much. Apparently there are many women out there who think fathers are extraneous.

I have yet to figure out what people think sometimes. There's always the fantasy that it will be "different" with her!!
I just found out that a guy down the road that I grew up with dumped his wife of 10 years and kids on Christmas day and the ow moved in 2 days later w/ her 9 year old daughter. Seems in the last few months, he's molested the child, admits it, says she came on to him. That's horrible - this part is worse! The mother first called the police and then, after the child told the story, sent her to live w/ her dad and told her to lie. She's doing it so the police have dropped charges. The child is in therapy, the woman is still w/ the molester, talking about marriage!!!! They BOTH need therapy (or worse, to my way of thinking)! His brother is passing on the word to all people in the area w/ kids - says we need to know. The molester is upset saying that people MIGHT hold it against him when it wasn't his fault!!!!! Duh?
I guess all I'm saying is that, sometimes, they don't think - not in any logical manner anyway. Selfishness and fantasy cloud the mind. Worse than drugs, I think, sometimes. Think what we've all been through; does ANY of it make sense????
-Lori

lostva,
It seems like each time I get on this board, I read a story that is even worse! Are there any sane people left on earth? And I thought I was being a bit paranoid to worry about the fact that the OW's 16 year old son's bedroom is on the same floor as where my girls are sleeping, while the adults are two floors away! He's not home this weekend, so it isn't an issue at the moment. I also worry about the future, if they stay together - in 4 years her other son will be 15 and one of my daughters will be 13. Sometimes I wonder if she worries about the fact that my 13 year old son is about the same age as her daughter. This is not the Brady Bunch. (Well, considering what I've read about Marsha and Greg, maybe I should hope that this is not the Brady Bunch).
