[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Praise: My husband went to church with me yesterday, without me asking him to go!!. My son went too, my H made him! While we were having our morning coffee, he asked me what time does church start. I told him what time, then after coffee, I got ready. Pretty soon he came and asked me what was he going to wear to church!!!! Praise GOD!!! During church he seemed to be listening and was even clapping his hands during praise and worship! Now, remember, my H has never been around this type of church (it's a Pentecostal based non-denominational charismatic church) and the only comment he made during church was "do you go up there and kneel in front of the preacher too" (several congregation members came forward to kneel at the altar and pray).
God is working on him. . . . . he is going to be a member of the kingdom of God soon! I also overheard H telling his mother that he went to church and the preacher was pretty good!
2nd praise report: [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Friday nite my husband was home when I got home! He did not drink all week!!!!! He did have a few beers at home Fri. nite.
We were chatting about the week, and H says to me "how come you never noticed I didn't drink a single beer all week". He then told me that he & his boss had made a deal -- no more drinking during the week!!! Praise God, praise God, praise God!!! Hallelujah!!!
Prayer Request: H is leaving for CA tonight. Please pray with me that the Lord will use this trip for his further good and glory, and will place born again Spirit filled Christians in my husband's path at every turn; ones that will witness to him about Christ. I am also praying for the enemy to be bound, and the Holy Spirit loosed. Thank you all so very much!
Update: Other than H leaving for CA tonight, things are GREATLY improved (thank You Lord). I am still puzzled as to why the Lord would want my H to go to CA after all the hard work that has been done to help restore our marriage. He must have a reason for this though.
My H has not started his counseling sessions at the Women's shelter. The Sat. session did not have enough enrolled to start, so he is now waiting to hear when the next one will be. H must be done with all 20 weekly sessions no later than Oct. 20.
Please praise our Lord with me for all the good things He is doing in my husband's life, as well as the others lives and marriages on this website.
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You from the bottom of my heart for all the good things You have done in my marriage, and our lives. I will Praise You morning, noon, and night Lord. I praise You God for the softening in my husband's heart and for those things that You are doing that I have not yet seen evidence of. Thank You Lord for planting the seed of salvation in my husband's heart. Help me Lord to do Your will in all things, forgiving me for any sins I may have committed. Show me Lord what You want me to do with regard to my marriage. Please guide my every thought, word and deed, as I will make a mess of things if I try to do things without You. Please don't let go of my hand throughout this trial. I thank You and praise You, Jesus. You are my king. In your precious name I pray, AMEN.

Praise God!!!! I am so happy to hear this! It renews my faith that it can happen! How long has your husband been a nonbeliever? I am praying daily for my husband to come home and I know Jesus is answering my prayers, in the last couple of days things have been nice between me and my husband (not reconciliation but just nice words) I know that Jesus is working in his heart. I lift him up daily because I want him to feel the joy and love that I have. I also pray for myself to be more forgiving and a better person. This weeks sermon was about how the good sheperd tends to his flock and the message really hit home with me. Thank you for sharing your message and may God continue to bless you and your family! I will pray for you, please pray for me, and pray that my husbands heart will be softened and he will see how good his life could be.

Dear Father, who art in Heaven, we thank thee and praise thee for the work that is being done in David's soul! Thank you for his period of sobriety.
Please bless him that his time in California will be to his eternal benefit, that the entire family may benefit from the changes and growth that will come from these experiences. Please bless AW with confidence, security, patience and faith in thy promises. IJN, Amen.

He is just so awesome! Halleluah Father! What a blessing You are, the mighty promise keeper. We praise you Father for hearing and answering prayer. We thank you for the intervention in David's life, for giving him strength to not drink during the week, for giving him a thirst for the things of you and for his volunteering to go to church. Use this for your glory Father! Continue to work in his life and bring him to his knees, that he sees his life without you as empty.
Let nothing interfere with Your plan for his life Father. Let his path be straight towards Your open arms. Let this time in California be the final straw that breaks him down and helps him to see his need for You.
Strengthen Rootbeer during this time. Let her eyes shine and pour out the joy and peace that comes only from You. Let her rest in Your love, confident that You are in control of all that is and will happen to David. Let her smile at the future knowing that You desire none be lost.
In the name of Jesus, we bind the evil one and all subsidiaries. We ask an umbrella shield of the blood be placed over David, that he be repelled from further drinking, that he see the waste of it all and realize that the hole he attempts to fill can only be filled by You. We ask that You strengthen him and help him to take control of his mind, that he be renewed in his thoughts many times daily as he works. Plant Your angels around him Father. Reveal Yourself in a way that He cannot deny. Surround him with godly men, men who will love him at the point where he is and encourage him to the cross.
Reveal Yourself to us as well Father. Make us aware moment by moment of Your hand on our lives. Give peace and encouragement where needed, boldness and courage to those sisters lacking and wisdom and Your vision for marriage to those who ask. We are grateful for Your leading Stormi to write this book, we are humbled at how little we recognized the power in Your mighty name. Teach us and guide us in Your wisdom Father. Change us as You desire, mold us like the potter to the clay and refine us and remove all dross.
For Your glory, IJN, Amen.

Rootbeer, this is such wonderful news!
Why are we so surprised when we see the miracle begin to unfold? I guess it is because our timetable is so very different from God's. We think if we don't see a difference immediately then God must not be listening.
Little by little David is having the light of the Holy Spirit shed into his being. Sometimes people come to Christ all at once and other times it is bit by bit.
Your faithfulness is the mortar which God is using to build David's house of faith.
I don't believe God gives such a wonderful sign of progress if He isn't bringing one all the way. Scripture say, "He who has begun a good work in you will complete it onto the day of Jesus Christ." These may be seen as small steps by some but from my vantage point this is a major leap!
To God be the Glory!
[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Love, Taj
------------------
"Perfect love casts out fear" I John 4:18

Dearest prayer warriors;
Thank you all so very, very much for your kind words and prayers. I just got back from taking David to the airport. He is enroute to CA. Will be gone 2 - 3 weeks. He was sober again tonight BTW. I tried not to cry, but couldn't help it. The gate guy must think I am a basketcase. Oh, well. At least my H knows how much I love him.
I made a notebook of things for him to read while on the plane, hopefully he's read some of it. We had not finished going over our EN questionnaires so those are in there, along with some of the info. off this site, a mushy card from me (told him to save this until later in the week), and an email I received from a member of the Standers group after I posted a prayer request. The man who sent me this email said he wanted to share his experience "man to man" with him. The message is not pushing Christianity down his throat, but succinctly states how he lost his wife and family because of his inability to let go of pride, ego, and things of this world that the enemy baits a man with. I have had this email for quite some time, and have saved it until I had the feeling that it was the right time to give it to him. I pray that David will read it with an open mind and heart.
I am so thankful to each of you for praying. I cannot express how very much this means to me. You all are my lifeline (next to Jesus), and I appreciate each of you from the bottom of my heart. And I thank the Lord for leading me to this website. I have been on this site for over a year now!!! So much has happened in the past year. Wow.

AW,
How absolutely wonderful to hear of your miracle. You are truly blessed by God. God's love is boundless. I thank you Jesus for your love and mercy. Jesus, we love you so much. We thank you every second for the wonderful blessings you give to us.
All the way to work today I was listening to my favorite Christian station and I just felt so moved by the Spirit and I thought what have I done to deserve this love? I realized then and there that it is because God loved us so much that He gave His Son for us. A simple sentence but it speaks of things I could not even know how to put in words. I wanted to share this with you. It is such a wonderful feeling to be loved so much.
I am so happy for you. You are truly a testimony to God's grace. Thank you for sharing your love and kind words. I may not meet you here in this world but I can't wait to say Hello when we get to Heavan.
Cindy

I am so happy happy for your and David and our Lord.
Why you ask is our Lord taking David to CA? Well the way I see it, He probably needs to make him realize how important you are to him and how important he is to the family...
Don't ask, JUST ACCEPT and rejoice.
Love and you are in my prayers CONTINOUSLY
Pookie.

Heartbroken1 - my husband has been an unbeliever for his whole life (he is 42 now) and I've been praying for him for many years. During the early years of our marriage I prayed off and on, you know the kind of prayer that says change him Lord, make him do this, make him do that, etc. It has only been in the last year that I have been praying regularly for his salvation and deliverance. You're right, God is working on your husband's heart, softening it, filling him with loving, pleasant thoughts of you. Keep praising the Father, loving and worshiping Him. He will restore your marriage, let Him guide you in all things.
hw -
quote:
only God knows the purpose, but it is an opportunity for you to trust God and have your faith built up

Yes you are so right. I have been perplexed over this, but accept that God has a reason for David being gone. You bless me so much, hw I am so grateful that I've been given the priviledge to know you through this forum. You're in my prayers.
Karenna, thank you so much for your prayer. I am so glad you are here, and I thank you for the many times you've given me words of encouragement when I was down. I'm already starting to feel lonesome and missing H!
Scoick, you were on my mind all afternoon, I've been praying for you and your husband. Hang in there, don't give up, ok? Come here to talk whenever you're feeling down, these precious ladies will help you and encourage you.
SueB - oh your prayer was so uplifting! Thank you so very much!!! Please know that you and your husband are in my prayers every day. Sometimes when I pray I get so emotional that I can't find the words to express the deep gratitude I feel for what God has done for me and all of us. Your prayers always express your feelings so beautifully; and are so full of wisdom. Thank you so much for being here dear sister!
Taj - I MISS YOU!!! It made me so happy to see your post! Thank you. Yes, I am the worst about being patient and waiting upon the Lord. I am reminded of the day in church when my bible fell open and highlighted on the page was Psalm 62:5 "My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him." The Lord is telling me to wait, let Him do His work in David's life. It is so hard to let go and get out of the way though! I see David as the spiritual head of our household, I know that that day is coming soon. When he left last night, I told him to please be careful and be safe. He said, "don't worry the good Lord will take care of me". This statement out of the mouth of an unbeliever was God reassuring me that He is in control and will protect him while he is gone. I told him "I know, because I'll be praying for you". And to echo your words "To God be the Glory!"
Holding On - how are you doing? Things ok? Thank you for your kind words. I agree with you that God's love is boundless. He is so good and loving to us, what we give Him in return is but a mere drop in the bucket of what we should. Yes, it is by God's grace that my marriage has progressed this far. Some days I am truly amazed at what God has done; taken a couple that used to scream at each other, call each other horrible names, threaten to take each other to the cleaners if there was a divorce, to the level of love there is now. I honestly believe my H used to hate me. The Lord changed his heart, and is still working on his heart. Only through the Lord Jesus could any of this ever happen. Every time I tried to do it myself I made a big mess. Thank you Jesus!!!
Pookie - you are right, I need to quit asking "why" and just Praise God. I can't thank you enough for your prayers, dear sister. I hope you are right that the Lord is using this time apart to reinforce to David how much I love him.
Thanks so much ladies!
AW
