My trip to CA was so much better than I could have anticipated. Although the drive was long to get there (I flew into Reno, NV and drove to Tulelake CA) I felt so blessed and thankful to God for working out all the details.
While David was at work Sat. I prepared a nice meal for him and his co-workers. They were very grateful for a homecooked meal! David even thanked me for cooking for everyone -- Praise God! Since I had all day Sat. in the middle of nowhere I enjoyed the time cooking and cleaned up the trailer he's staying in.
One thing that I overheard Sat. night confirmed to me that God is speaking to my husband's heart. He'd had a few beers and was talking to a couple guys, and I caught a few words that he was saying, and he was telling them about believing in God. To God all the glory!
Sunday we drove to Oregon and were tourists at Crater Lake. What a beautiful place! It was one of the most enjoyable days we have ever had together. And, he was sober all day! PTL!!! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I had a 6 PM flight home Monday, so I didn't have to leave until afternoon. After David left for work (I didn't cry - it was hard though) I wrote little one sentence love notes and put one in pockets of each pair of jeans, each shirt, his jacket, and even inside the wrapper on his cigarette packages. Guess he won't forget me too soon. Tues. night he kind of chuckled and said "I got your note - that was sweet", then tonight he was kind of laughing again and asked if I put a note in every pair of pants. I told him it was a secret that he would just have to find out. He said he liked them. So, I guess I made my point. I sound like a lovesick teenager, not a 42 year old mother who has been with her husband for 18 years!
Of course the enemy had to try to ruin things. Since I left CA David has been drunk every night, wanting to pick fights. Last night I lost my self-control and we both hung up angry and hurt. I have a lot of praying to do ladies.
Thank you all so very, very much for your prayers. I truly believe that God heard those prayers and caused each good thing to happen, for which I give Him all the praise. His hand was definitely in this.
Father, You are wonderful, Your grace and love is so comforting. Thank You Lord for being in our midst last weekend, and I thank You Lord for causing all things to work for the good. I praise You Lord for the work You are doing in my husband's life, as well as in the lives of each praying wife's husband. Thank You Lord for holding each of us up when we feel like we are going to cave in, thank You Lord for preparing our husbands' hearts to receive You. What a great testimony these born-again husbands will be!!! Our faith in trust is in You, help us Lord to increase that faith each day. Thank You Lord for the blessings You have poured out on each of us. I am so grateful that You saved me. I can never say enough how thankful I am. I pray that You will keep me on the path of righteousness Lord, and keep pointing out to me the logs in my eye, so that I may remove them. Thank You so much Lord, IJN AMEN
AW,
This is a praise report. Wow!! Isn't Crater Lake beautiful. The kids and I and my mom went one fall. There were some nice places to stay in the park. Since it was fall they were almost empty. We drove aroung the entire crater and stopped often. Did you have that opportunity?
I remember thinking can you imagine (was it Lewis and Clark that discovered it?) Can you imagine walking through the wilderness and coming upon this place for the first time!
Wow!
I went to a play tonight with some friends from my Bible study. One of the girls was in it. Then we went out for dessert since one of the girl's birthday is today. She is away from home for over a year now. She is from Montenegro and doesn't plan to go back. It is hard on her but because of the war she is better off here, though I know she misses her mother desperately. And we think we have it hard sometimes. We were all sharing how much God has done for us. It was so good to go out with Christian friends and just sit around and talk! I left feeling so blessed in the Lord.
The woman from Montenegro asked me when Jack was coming home. She stopped and looked at me and said, "I asked that with such confidence." I said, "I think you were just being prophetic!" We both felt it.
AW glad you are back and we are still praying for David. Praise the Lord, that he is talking about God with others, God is so good. It demonstrates that God can break through even the hardest of hearts! Yeah!
Lord, we praise you and give you all the glory for this last weekend. You are indeed working in these husbands' lives. Thank you and we are humbled that you hear our cries and grant our dearest desires. Thank You Jesus and call us all to seek You ever more. In Jesus name, Amen.
