Friends, please pray for my 16 year old daughter as we prepare to take her back to school. She goes to a Christian boarding school about 1 1/2 hrs away. She is starting to get worried and her fears come out in anger toward me because "I am getting rid of her." The kids in our neighborhood are not a good influence and she becomes a different child when she is away from them. She will probably make it miserable on me hoping I will give in. She will be fine when she gets there. She is a good kid at heart that has gotten in with the wrong kids. Besides this, she is a kid that needs lots of structure in order to succeed in the school environment. None of the schools provide that around here and this school provides the structure that she needs.
I pray that I so trust God that I can stay loving toward my daughter and that I am able to back away and not feed into this and escalate it in any way. I know that the Lord has provided this place for her and I know one day she will appreciate it.
Thank you, In Jesus Name.

Reminds me of how I sometimes am with the Lord, of how I do not always appreciate His best for me in the midst of the moment. But He still loves me enough to give me His best.
I think of this verse:
LK 11:11 "Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? [12] Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? [13] If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
Father, we lift up HW's daughter as she readies for this school year. Father, you made such changes in her last year. Help her to see them and to recognize the sacrifice and love her parents have for her in this decision and how hard it is for them to have her away from them as well. Cement their love for one another in a special way, that the daughter can see past her grief to her mother's as well. Provide some truly blessed friends for her to connect with at school who will encourage her to grow in Christ. Pour your peace over this household and bind all bitterness and strife away from its doors. IJN, Amen.

Thanks Sue, I really appreciate your prayers. I didn't even know how to pray anymore, last night, she was so upset at me. Yours was right on target. Praise the Lord.
