Hi everyone,
Yes my spelling is off that is what spellchecker is for. I know this has been discussed before but I really could use some insight on all the options.
What meds would be good for anxiety and well anger type emotions. I am taking St. John and it works fine for me.
Tony should take Prozac but is not. He says it makes his stomach upset. I really think he needs to get back onto something. I just know there has to be something on the market that has less side effects than prozac. Plus he really hates taking pills so he smashes them up and takes them either in a drink or with jello and the like. I would love advice on this please.
Yes we are still together. I have one foot in and one foot out. Not the best way to go but untill he starts taking something for his anger and anxiety nothing will ever change.

I don't know about anger and anxiety. Only a physitian can tell you that. I started on welbutrin last week to help me stop smoking and take the edge off my depression. So far it seems to be working on the depression, 3 more days until my stop smoking day.
I hope I helped some,
Bill
------------------
BB
I'm on Zoloft and there seems to be no major side affects yet. There are many other types of anti-depressants. Your doctor or Psychiatrist can tell you more about the differences each one has. Remember that the meds are only part of the treatment. Therapy is also required to help get to the root and treat the depression or anxiety.
Good luck
------------------
That Which does not kill us makes us stronger.

I've been on Zoloft since March despite my GP's insistence that anti-dep meds weren't effective for situational depression.
He did renew them for me last week (during my bi-weekly ankle check-up ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/frown.gif) ) but I forgot them at work and missed my Thur - Sun doses. Don't know if it was coincidental or what, but last night I burst out in tears for no real reason and couldn't stop crying for 2 hours.
Guess what I popped first thing when I got to work? ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
------------------
RobinAnn
*********
Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape!

Hi Paha, www.depression.com
is a good resource for all anti-deps. I took Paxil before Zoloft. I liked Paxil, felt it kick in the first day. It's main use is anti-anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and panic attacks (me to a T). Didn't have any side-effects until I went off, then had a strange almost breathless feeling (sort of like anxiety) for a week. I went on Zoloft because my military facilty couldn't fill my Paxil. Haven't noticed its effect as much, but I know it evens out my moods as I was without meds for 3 weeks and I found out how I really feel.
My Dr just gave me 20mg of celexa. It is relatively new. She said it takes effect quicker than the other anti-deps(1 week instead of 2).
She also said the chance for side effects is greatly reduced.
I've been on them a week now. Not sure how they are working although my patience with kids seems to have returned. Its just when I have to deal with my stbx that I feel rocky.
Only other thing I've noticed is that I have to run to the bathroom alot so I don't know if this is some kind of diuretic or not.
I haven't been sleeping too well, but that started before I took the anti-deps.

Check with your Dr. I'm going back for follow in 3 weeks.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the great advice.

Lor thanks for the web site. I will look at it this weekend. Not sure but I think Tony tried Paxil and made the situation worse. He hates Prozac.
RWD. I will also check out that new drug. Durring Chirstmas I will discuss it with my Mom.
Robin do you really see that much of a difference. I might try Zoloft for myself. I cry for no reason at times. I missed a doctors appointment just because I forgot what day it was and I started to cry in the reception room. The poor receptionist was trying really hard to get me to stop crying.
Again Thank you very much on all the information.
