Hi Ladies,
Just wanted to recommend a book I've been reading and also include a few prayers from it. The name of it is "Praying God's Word" and it is written by Beth Moore. This book is Excellant! It is simply praying God's word in order to be set free from spiritual strongholds.
The strongholds she includes, but definately not limited to are:
1. Overcoming idolatry
2. Overcoming Unbelief
3. Overcoming Pride
4. Overcoming Deception
5. Overcoming the Insecurity of feeling unloved
6. Overcoming feelings of rejection
7. Overcoming addictions
8. Overcoming food related strongholds
9. overcoming ongoing feelings of guilt
10. overcoming despair resulting from loss
11. overcoming unforgivness
12. overcoming depression
13. overcoming sexual strongholds
14. overcoming the enemy
As you can see, all of us, both WS's and BS's can benefit from these. You can also pray them as an intercessary prayer for your spouses.
Here are a couple of examples of the prayers - she says scriptures then sometimes adds her own prayers
(This one comes from overcoming feelings of being unloved) "I give thanks to you Lord, for you are good your love endures forever. I give thakns to yo, the God of gods, your love endures forever. I give thanks to you, the Lord of lords: your love endures forever. To you who alone does great wonders: your love endures forever. Who by your understanding made the heavens: Your love endures forever. Who spread out the earth upon the waters: your love endures forever. who made the great lights and the sun to govern the day: your love endures forever. To you Lord, the One who rememberd me in my low estate and freed me from my enemies.Your love endures forever. I give thanks to the God of heaven: Indeed, your love endures forever." (Ps. 136:1-8, 23-26)
(Overcoming feelings of rejection) "Lord God, I am hard pressed on every side, but not crushed, perplexed, but not in despiar; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. I always carry around in my body the death of your son, Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in my body. (2 Cor 4:8-10). Lord help me always to remember that if I am truly crucified with Christ, I am also raised to resurrection life! Help me never to forget that the purpose of crucified life is to walk in the power of your resurrection (Gal 2:20)."
(Overcoming despair) " You say to me Lord, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that your power may rest on me. (2 Cor 12:9)" You O God, will never leave nor forsake me. (Heb 13:5) You are the only absolute guarantee I have in all of life. Help me cling to the one thing I can never lose."
(Overcoming sexual strongholds) "Lord God, I acknowledge to you that my body was not meant for sexual immorality, but for you, Lord. You Lord were meant to take authority over this body and bring it sanctification and meaning. I know that my body is a member of Christ, himself. I shall not then take the members of Christ and unite them in an ungodly relationship (1 Cor. 6:13-15)"
This is just a sampling of the book of course, But I would highly recommend it to anyone who is having any type of problem - which is everyone I know!!
May God richly bless each and every one of you this season!
