The last time I posted, things seemed very dismal to me. I'd let some events be triggers again and I didn't feel like I could hold together anymore. I'd pushed my H to the point where first he withdrew (making me worse) then he didn't know if he could keep on.
We've gotten past the bad times again. My H is being the husband I need him to be, and I keep praying POPW "His Wife" chapter...I think God just keeps working on us until all those old triggers and strongholds belong to him.
I could tell that the tension between my H & I was easing, but then something happened to remind me how much things have truly changed. Since Oct we've been going to a couples Bible Study led by our counselor (an ordained pastor who now specializes in Christian marriage counseling, also a long-ago WS himself, so not shockable). The C said that next week he & his wife would probably be at study, but arrive late and could someone else take over leading the study that night? My H turns to me, "How about us?"
Wow. "How about us." This is a man who at one time felt that he had outsinned God, was in fact, lost. But now knows the truth of both God's mercy and that he is a new creature in Christ who feels no problem in leading a Bible Study with 6 other Christian couples. Oh...and I agreed [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] and to host the Study at our house--the first time for that as well.
Anyway, I just thought I would share this. I don't know why it is so easy to fall back into the pain of the past when there are new and good things happening right under my nose.
Thank you for all of your prayers.
------------------
Lor
"Whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, gracious...think about these things." Praise to the Lord! Thank you for drawing this couple to you in righteousness. Bless their ministry that many may be touched and come nearer to thee. Bless them with pure joy in thy love and comfort in each other. IJN, amen.

Lor,
I am always so happy when things go well for you and your H. It always shows me that years of pain, anger, and affair can be worked through.

Thank you Lor for sharing that. I'm also reminded that "it is so easy to fall back into the pain of the past when there are new and good things happening right under my nose". The enemy just keep trying to get to us even though he knows he's already defeated and doesn't have a leg to stand on.
