I'm convinced that a large majority of men today believe it is okay to have many partners due to the mutliple wives and concubines mentioned in the Old Testament (ex. Solomon, David, etc.) I'm confused because even though I can see where they're coming from on this, we women are left to fend to ourselves.
While they're out getting all of the attention they need from many different sources, how do we women fill our void? I used to think that God, my husband & my family & friends together make my life whole but now I find myself lonely. My husband is one of these that looks outside the marriage. Is my relationship with God suppose to be so strong that my need for a little attention from a man goes away?
db, Your husband is sinning, period.
quote:
My husband is one of these that looks outside the marriage.

This is adultery and is definitely not what God intends for your marriage. Read Leviticus 26, as well as Proverbs 5, 6, and 7, as there are consequences for a husband who continues to sin. I know you must be so hurt, and lonely during this trial, but it is at these times that the Lord wants us to draw up closer to Him, to lean completely on him. Please, find time to get alone with God, and cry out to Him. He hears your cries and wants so much to help you.

quote:
Is my relationship with God suppose to be so strong that my need for a little attention from a man goes away

Yes, the Lord will be your husband and will love you, protect you, and provide for you when your husband is not able to. Don't let Satan deceive you dear sister. What your husband is doing is definitely out of the will of God, and no matter what he does, you've got to live with a clean, pure heart, focused steadfastly on the Lord. His behavior by no means is your fault.
You will be in my prayers.
