I wish I had SOMETHING to say, but I don’t.
If you recall, we went to my BIL’s funeral last week of Nov.
We had almost no communication there. I sent a card after that, some chocolates & a card for Christmas and a card for our 20th anniversary. She did talk to me last week. Said she received some notice from the mortgage co. It went directly to her and she asked if I changed the address. No I didn’t. She asked if I took her name off the mortgage. Told her we can’t do that until we sell the house. Hopefully that’ll make her stop & think, at least a little bit.
She also told me she was filing her own taxes. I thanked her for letting me know. (Little does she know she has to itemize with almost nothing to deduct. Bwah, ha, ha, ha!)
So that sums up where we are at. I have only spoken to her seven times since July. What a relationship, eh?
Today I thought I was feeling very good. Felt this way the last few weeks. Went to my men’s group and a new guy told us his wife served him divorce papers last week. She moved out early Nov. He hasn’t seen her or spoken to her at all. Just a few emails. Then this. Seems to have hit me like a ton o’ bricks.
------------------
Prayers & God Bless!
Chris
For relationship info check out Marriage & Relationship Resources

Hi Chris,
I'm up early this am and saw your post. I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough go of it this week. I know I can't do much to help with that except offer a few kind words. But, I'll do my best.
Sometimes, the hardest action to decide to take is to sit and wait. It suggests passivity, it goes against the expectations of our action-oriented society. But, sometimes... the right thing to do is to wait. And... prepare for what might come.
You've done a super job, Chris. You've been such a role model for so many folks on the Forum. Your strength, patience, and compassion are examples for us all. You have discipline, you have honor. And...yet... with humility and humor.
What follows next may sound like platitudes but I've come to accept them: "life" is full of opportunities. Even during difficult times, even during times of pain, we can grow and serve purpose. The trick is to learn to embrace both the times of hardship and ease.
Be well, Chris. Savor the journey. Even the bad days on the road.

Chris, you are such a good man and wonderful father. Hate you are feeling down. Seems like when we start to feel a little bit up and in control something knocks the wind out of us. Hang in there and know you and the girls are thought of.
