First post you have seen of mine with a smile icon huh?
Well, guess what!!!! Saturday is my birthday. My husband came home with an early birthday present for me. This is the man that doesn't shop and usually can't think of anything to get me. He had purchased a one hour massage for me. He said he knew I had a lot of stress lately.
How sweet. And he even thought of it all by himself. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] What more could a woman want?

Susan - That was very sweet and thoughtful of your H. (I assume your question about what more could a woman want was rhetorical only!) Wishing you a very happy birthday.
Simone

This board must have something "in the water"! Out of the clear blue and I don't know for what reason I left work after lunch today and went to the department store (ladies section) and purchased three scented candles and two bottles of shower jel for my wife. We went to cycling class together (I just joined). Went to dinner after class. Came home and gave her bath with scented shower jel in a candle lit bathroom. What a treat! You just never know. I guess the suprises are coming back.

I don't want to be a wet blanket. I think it's great that Susan's H was so thoughtful. But guys, before you buy this kind of gift for your W, find out somehow if she might like the idea. For her birthday a year ago, I gave my wife a certificate to a day spa, thinking I'd hit on a unique gift she'd really like. She was, um, UNDERwhelmed. Never used it.
Heck, I should have given her a nice drill press or something. At least then I could have used it! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Anyway, don't assume.

Doug - you are exactly right!!! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Thank goodness I am thrilled about the present. But actually my husband heard me mention the fact a year ago that I would like to do this. It will be a first for me and I can't wait.
I know what you are saying though. It is possible to give gifts that you think are great and the person is wondering why in the world you would think they wanted THAT!!! I hope your wife realized that it is the thought that is important (even though I would hate to waste the money) [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
