Hello, Dear Friends.
Well, it seems that PT has finally realized that she has lost and she's very angry. She called my MIL and has taken off work today. She's on her way here. She told Mom if she got rid of me, she could keep H. Said if she doesn't kill me, she'll make sure that he'll never want me again. The threats she made were detailed and graphic. Mom was crying and a bit hysterical. She's capable of it - I wouldn't be the first.
I will not leave my home. But please be with me today as I face this - hopefully Mom succeeded in talking a little sense into her, but her last words were "Thank you for talking to me, but I have to go. There are things I have to do and I have to do them today. Goodbye."
I haven't talked to H yet. He has his cellphone turned off b/c she's been calling constantly for the last week. He's talked to her twice this morning, telling her to leave him and us alone, but she's just angry.
Most of his things are here. The rest are at his mom's where he's been living as a transition place.
Keep us in your prayers today. It's Valentine's Day and the anniversary of H's proposal years ago. I have a lot to do b/f he gets home tonight.
Love to you all.
Lori

Lori,
Please be careful and don't hesitate to call the police if you have to. If you don't have a restraining order maybe you need to think about getting one.
I'll say some extra prayers for you today!
Good luck,
Mitzi

Lori,
Since PT verbalized the threats to your MIL, could she call the police to alert them to the situation?
I think PT needs a strong dose of reality. It is not okay to make threats. It is serious and the law can be involved.
In your position, especially if she has any sort of record, I would call the police and ask them what they think you should do. The call would be logged and if anything happens, premeditation ups her punishment.
I'd personally like to whup up on her for you, but I'll pray instead [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com].
Lor

Lori,
Call the police NOW! Don't wait for her to show up, she's already made threats, and that's enough to get them involved.
I'm praying.
Butterfly
aka Dawnetta
------------------
There are deep sorrows and killing cares in life, but the encouragement and love of friends were given us to make all difficulties bearable.
-- John Oliver Holmes
The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.
-- Elie Wiesel

Lori,
I just sent up prayers for your safety and protection.
Now, take as many measures to ensure your safety as possible. Make sure your house is secure. Do as Lor says, and call the police. If you have a tape recorder, turn it on (in a hidden location) as soon as she shows up. Call the police again as soon as she shows up. See if you can call someone to come stay with you (the beefier and burlier, the better).
If she is so crazy as to break into your house anyway, have your keys handy so you can get away fast. Use any means available to protect yourself if need be. Even a can of hairspray could maybe buy you time to get away if you spray it into her eyes.
Personally, I'd get my .38 and sit with my back against a wall and shoot her if she got in and came at me.
I'm still praying for your safety...and also that she'll realize what a terrible thing she is trying to do.
Thanks for being there, guys. So far, so good. Hopefully she was just blowing off some steam.
I've locked the doors (which really ticks me off - it's 70 today!) and working on my v-day dinner. MIL and some friends are calling constantly.
Mitzi - keeping the phone with me. MIL tried to scare her, saying that if she messed with me, I'd make sure they took her little one and she'd wind up in jail. Said she didn't mind jail, but she didn't want to leave her child.
Lor - I called the police for advice. Didn't get much. If she comes and tries to do anything, call them back. If it continues, I can prosecute for stalking, but not yet. I was just sitting here wondering if I could take her!!! LOL Just kidding! Never had a fight in my life, but I'm just about mad enough!!!
Butterfly - The police weren' much help yet, but I'm keeping an eye out.
Wassi - Don't know anyone who's not working. I've locked myself in and I'm ready, I think. Wish there WAS someone to be here today.
Sweetpea - I expected trouble from the little witch, but not this much. Hopefully, the threat of losing her little one will help. She's probably reading all of this and right now, I don't care. Poor H - can't believe he's had to go through all this.
Thanks everyone. I'll check in every hour or so and let you know everything's ok. You guys are always there when I need you.
Love,
Lori

Lori,
Random acts of kindness are not what this woman plans on if she should make the trek to your home. Please put any pride aside and attack this issue head on (I don't mean physically). You said that you called the police. Did you EMPHASIZE her words, that she has taken today off work, that she told your MIL "if she doesn't kill me, she'll make sure that he'll never want me again", that the threats were detailed and graphic, that she is more than capable and has a less than admirable track record?
That her LAST WORDS to your MIL were "Thank you for talking to me, but I have to go. There are things I have to do and I have to do them today. Goodbye."
Make sure that you tell them that it would be on their shoulders if anything did happen and they had been forwarned. That you are genuinely SCARED and CONCERNED because of her PAST HISTORY. What do you think the response time would be if you had to call them in the heat of things? Is there an opportunity for her to go to extremes and cut the only communication you have to the police (and here) by way of external phone lines.....
Not trying to scare you but you need to take a real look at this situation and know that taking a "what will be, will be" way of thinking could be harmful.
Also, if you do decide to leave the house, be prepared - she may be anticipating this and be lurking where you would least expect it. Can you call someone over to be with you (if you could, try to find someone 6'2", 190lbs., dark hair, blue eyes ....hey you might as well be in good company....) [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Keep posting - please, please, please do SOMETHING, just waiting will not take care of the situation. Be proactive. Please.
Lisa

[This message has been edited by LisaM (edited February 14, 2000).]

Ok, Ok, I shouldn't have worried you guys, but I'm keeping the computer up and checking in every now and then.
Deb - no news is good news, I guess. Not a sign yet. Hopefully, she's just angry and talking out her uh oh!!
Dylan - I remember. I have nowhere to go right now. The police were very nice, but said they can't do anything unless she shows up. I'm to call them AS SOON AS I see her pull into the driveway. I will, I promise. I'm not being stupid - I'm as cautious as I can be right now. I promise.
Lisa - thanks. I'm doing what I can. The only time I HAVE to leave today is to go pick up d at around 4:30. I'll be careful when I go out.
Thanks everyone. I promise to keep checking in. I promise. I hate this! I cannot believe anyone could be so twisted.
Talk to you in a bit.
Lori

Lori,
This woman is sick!
Protect yourself and your daughter, too.
I wouold call the police and see what they advise. If she comes on your property without your invitation, maybe you can get her for trespassing.
Protect yourself from this nut!!!!!
Praying for you......Desiree
------------------
"Life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things in which smiles and kindnesses and small obligations, given habitually, are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort."
Sir Humphry Davy
I can't believe that making death threats are not illegal in the states!!! Have you got a lawyer to call? I am so angry for you right now... I guess I'm carrying a lot of the resentment about what I have been through and bringing it here... sorry... anyway you CAN'T let her get away with this... read my post about human aggression http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/Forum28/HTML/000668.html you can't let her think that she can just intimdate folks without suffering the consequences of her actions. She must be held accountable...
Anyway, I'm mostly worried and this is at least 50% venting....
The Lori watch continues...
Deut
[This message has been edited by Soulloss' exH (edited February 14, 2000).]

Wassi - would you believe we don't even HAVE a donut shop??? I'm sorry - just kidding around a little. I ran across the road and talked to Mr. S. He's a great old guy and I adore him - retired, but NOT a weak ole man!! He's got his rifle by the back door, the phone by his side, and watching like a hawk all day!! I only opened the door once today - when I got my flowers!! All my favorite tropicals mixed w/ roses - sorry, but they're so beautiful!! H called. I told him what Mom said. He's worried - I really expect to see him show up any time, he's a couple of hours away, though.
Desiree - I'm trying. I feel calmer for some reason. Hope it's my angel telling me everything's gonna be ok. Thanks, Hon.
Viki - You're a darlin', too. Don't forget I've got that loud-mouthed Shorty to warn me when a vehicle gets w/in 100 yards of the place!!!! Thanks for the phone calls - calms my nerves.
Everything's ok, guys. Talk w/ you later.
Lori

Lori,
If you can get someone to come over and get you, then find a safe place to be. If not, keep your doors/windows locked and stay inside.
Call somebody else to pick up your daughter. Don't leave the house. PT might be waiting for that. Another thought...it might be wise to ensure D's safety. Warn the school officials.
And, PT, if you're reading this, why do you think that hurting Lori would win her H to you? Don't you understand that hurting Lori would only ensure that he will hate you for as long as he lives? Don't you understand that he loves Lori for the beauty of her soul and not her face...and that will never change?
PT, you don't need a man for your happiness. You have to find it within yourself. And, unless a man willingly comes to you with love in his heart, he will only make you miserable. Get some help for yourself, PT...both for your sake and your daughter's.
