Hey there InShock,<P>I wish I/we would have found one that helped in our situation.<P>Before we got married, we knew there were some problems that were to be overcome. We visited one that said we should not get married at all. We thought HE was nuts. Strange techniques. That and he constantly picked at his toes during the session. I guess we should have listened to him minus the toe thing. He is not in the area any longer.<P>After discovery I interviewed a councelor whom seemed to fit the bill. I was looking specifically for a STBT therapist. We found this one went back to our childhoods. Not what we wanted. Not what she told me up front. Lied to again. I doubt that I was a rotten H because I fell down the cellar steps at age three. That and she played with her dog too much for my liking seeing that I was paying for marrital help and not petting the pooch.<P>Last one wouldn't talk to me before the session because of patient confidentiality. WHAT? This was the last one Val would see, so I had no choice. Looked promising after the first session. Val asked me to lunch. He wanted to see her privately and turned her against me. She did this because of her self esteem and should expore new relationships. It aint fun living in cow country when you want good help !!<P>It does not surprise me that you had a shoe-less therapist, a therapist playing with the past during a crisis or a new-agey, go go woman therapist. And if you go again, stay away from anyone on Emaus Ave !! These people done never heared of Doc Harley.<P>Perhaps I can call an ambulance for the person needing help here !!! Perhaps the medic will inject some sense into her head and we can forget therapy altogether. <P>As far as checking up on Val, you'll feel better if you don't. I don't know why, but it is so much worse when you see with your own eyes what you only "think" is going on.<P>Tell anybody, including Val, pointing out just how loooong your separation has been, to stick it where the sun don't shine.
