Thanks ever so much!
In order to make this so much easier on you & him you need to do a few, very simple things. You do not know the pain of withdrawal. It’s much easier to go cold turkey than to string it out.
1. Do not contact him again.
2. Do not read any emails from him. Simply delete them. Do not read any letters or take any calls from him. None. For any reason.
3. Get rid of anything he may have given you.
If you do not do these things, then it’ll keep you on the hook. You owe him nothing & he owes you nothing. He does owe his Wife & children much more than he has been giving them. If they are to get divorced, then you do NOT want to be the cause of it.
Be strong & have faith in God!
------------------
Prayers & God Bless!
Chris
For relationship info check out Marriage & Relationship Resources

Chris ~ My typical response to "thank you very much" is "my pleasure" but what I am experiencing is anything BUT pleasure.
Trust me, I DO know the pain of withdrawal. I tried (unsuccessfully) for two weeks to go cold turkey. I would cry so much it would make me throw up. I was a mess and despite warnings from others here telling me that any contact would put me back to square one, I still succumbed to the temptation and either accepted his calls and even broke down and called him.
I did write him a "no contact" letter this weekend and so far, so good. Having said that, he is in Baltimore as we speak so time will tell.
Thanks for your advice...I'm going to try and go cold turkey but I feel like my world is collapsing around me.
In tears (yes even at work)
Judy

Yes I know withdrawal too. I've been going through it for over a year now, except I'm forcing myself to stay in it and not "just get over it." Many, many tears have I cried at work, at home, at dinner, etc.

Take it one minute at a time.
------------------
Prayers & God Bless!
Chris
For relationship info check out Marriage & Relationship Resources

A whole year, Chris???? The thought of going thru this for a year is unbearable. I would rather die.
I am confused as to why you would "force" yourself to stay in something as painful as this??? There was nothing in your profile except a string of numbers so I have no insight into what you mean. Help me understand why anyone would choose to live with such anguish???
Happy? Monday!

Well we aren't in the same situation, but sortq on opposite ends of it. My Wife is the one who had an affair. She left February of last year to live with the om. I have our two daughters. I still want the marriage and am doing all I can tosave it. Not much I can do though. I am going through "withdrawal" because I have to save my love for my Wife.
This is why I choose to stay in this anguish. if the affair does not end or if it does and she doesn't return, then I'll divorce her this Christmas (2 years from discovery)
------------------
Prayers & God Bless!
Chris
For relationship info check out Marriage & Relationship Resources

Chris,
I am sooo sorry. Too bad the OM doesn't see what he is doing to your family and try to back out of the picture like I am trying to do.
Would certainly make it easier on all involved. I will pray that this all works out for you.
It's not over til it's over! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
Take care and God Bless!
Judy
