A very close relative of mine was told today of her husband's infidelity (by her husband). Is there anything that I could say or do to help her deal with this excruciating pain? Is this a road that can only be traveled alone? Did anyone find anything helped?

encouraging her to come to this site would be a very nice gesture.
when I found out I needed to talk, talk, talk. If she needs to talk, let her know that you'll be there to listen and won't tell anyone what she says.
Keo

Just be there for her. When I found out I couldn't stop talking about it. I stayed on the phone constantly talking to my best friend about it.
If it's possible, encourage her to come to this site. It has been a tremendous blessing to me!
Mitzi

I agree with the others. I too needed to talk and you can never have too many people because I think you can wear them down with your problems. I know I did this with 1 set.
It is good to clear your mind by getting them out.
Also posting here was tremendous benefit to me too!
God Bless
Bob
