....today, I married the man I love! 12-3-94. I picked that date mainly, because I figured if he could count he could remember it -1234 ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) (a side from the fact I needed to find a date that wasn't significant to wife 1 or 2-LOL)
We were married outside in the middle of winter in the midwest!! The trees were slightly covered w/ snow. Christmas was in the air.
It was a Victorian wedding. My aunt designed a suit for me made of white wool and velvet. My H wore a herring bone jacket w/ a black velvet vest. There were candles all aglow.
We invited 40 of our dearest family and friends. His children from 1st marriage stood up for him- my sisters for me.
It was a beautiful ceremony. Afterwards, we had a reception brunch, complete w/ champange and quiche.
We then went home and made love for the first time as H and W. AHHHH!
As we traveled to our honeymoon bed and breakfast, it began to snow- ever so slightly. I held my H hand and layed my head on his shoulder. It was heaven.
Even tho tomorrow, I won't be sharing my anniversary w/ my H; I won't be getting flowers or a card or an "I love you" from him; I intend to celebrate w/ my D and drink my champagne alone and toast to the wonderful times that will always be in my heart.
Thanks for letting me share.
God Bless,
Cheryl
[This message has been edited by ceecee (edited December 03, 1999).]

It sounds like you were truly in love.
It has made me think about our wedding and homeymoon. I would like to share an equally sweet story, but my hardened heart won't let me remember much good right now. Let me give it a shot.
We were young. We had a big wedding, but didn't want one. I couldn't stand up to my mom and insist on what we wanted so we had the wedding of her dreams.
We spent our first night at a Embassy Suite because the location was good and they had an All you can eat breakfast buffet. Did I say we were young. Looking back I see this for just how ridiculous it really way, but it just makes me smile.
We went to my H's bosses lakehouse for the rest of our honeymoon, it was his gift to us. It was 3 stories of pure luxury. We had 2 jetskis gassed up and waiting for us. We had our own private hot tub and sauna. We were completely alone with each other and happy about it, even though neither one of us were prepared to be grownups yet.
I sure wish we could have kept cold realities (or imagined realities) from setting in and messing everything up between us.

Those are the memories that will live inside you forever- if you let them. I still am In Love w/ my H. He has no idea of that- but I continue to pray for him- for God to show him the way back into my life and my D life, so we an be a family again.
Good luck to you!
God Bless,
Cheryl
Ceecee- happy anniversary. Your post brought back memories of my wedding. It was somewhat unconventional.
Both H and I were apprehensive about getting married and had actually discussed moving in together, instead. He had had a pretty unhappy first marriage, and I was young (only 24).
He never officially proposed to me, but one day he said, "Let's drive down & get a marriage license. They last forever, and we don't have to use it right away." I replied, "Okay" in a dumb blonde kind of way. So, we got the license. (In Nevada, there is no waiting period or blood test required.) Then he says, "Let's drive by the Justice of the Peace's house and just see if he is at home." Now I'm beginning to think, "Uh oh." But, I hesitantly reply, "Okay" in this little tiny voice. Inside I'm thinking, "Oh God, I hope he's not home." So, we are at the front door ringing the doorbell. He answers and I must have looked like a deer caught in headlights. Anyway, I was in such shock, that the only thing I can remember is saying "I do". The shock didn't hit H until the drive back home. He was as white as a sheet. I asked him several times, "Are you okay?"
Later on, H would always embelish the story by saying that I had both arms braced against the doorframe and he to give me a push to get me inside. Some would consider this romantic, others not, but it's definitely different!

ceecee,
I will search out a glass from all my boxes, open a bottle of wine and toast to your anniversary. I love the way you described your wedding. He is nuts right now, I doubt he has a clue of what he is risking. Stay the way you are, keep hangin in there and have a great day with your daughter.
I wish my wife would remember our wedding like you remember yours.
mkn

Sidney-
I can only imagine the butterflies you had in your stomach!! Thanks for sharing your story. I am praying for you!!
Lor-
You are so right. They can walk out the door, but they leave behind all the beautiful memories- if you can hold on to them and not the ugly ones.
mkn-
Thanks, Mike. I'll be toasting about 8:00. Hope you can join in. I wish your W remembered your wedding as a special day, too! Maybe she does, and you just don't realize it.
Thanks All, for joining me down memory lane.
Cheryl
