I stopped by my lawyers today as I had some questions for him and found out my stbx took the papers and reviewed them with somebody and then signed and returned them.
This means we will have a hearing within 30-90 days and that will be it. Looks like there is no stopping things now, not that there ever was.
I talked to stbx's best friend today and she told me that she came home the other day and found the card table and chairs she had lent my stbx when om moved out and took his table, back in Sept. So I guess this means that he is moving his stuff back in as if I didn't figure he would.
Her friend said she hasn't heard from her in weeks and the table and chairs had just been dropped off. I guess she is really isolating herself from anyone who might talk her out of this.
She is so far gone.
Her parents are staying with me this weekend. It is starting to get weird. Her father doiesn't say anything about it, but I've talked briefly with her mother. They are both just stunned.
Thats all for now. Will check back later if I can get computer time form my daughter.

RWD,
This is devastating to you right now....SORRY for your pain and the incredibly POOR timing on her part - right before the BD party this weekend! How insensitive can a person get?????? [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Somehow, her situation with this OM has failure written all over it to me. She might get her D, maybe even marry ths guy, but I'm putting money on it that they won't be together in 5 years. Such a waste.
Thinking of you this weekend! Get some beer for after the party [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Roll Me Away
------------------
"Life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things in which smiles and kindnesses and small obligations, given habitually, are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort."
Sir Humphry Davy
Hi RWD -
I am sorry....RMA's right - how icky of her to do just before the birthday party!! Although, no time is really a good time for this.....
BIG HUGS to you!!!
I am also sorry that your FIL seems a little out of it.....but I am glad that you have them there and they are continuing to be family to you and the kids. That's a very good thing!!!
She's back in the delusion world and another crash is heading her way..how many times she has to keep doing this to herself....Who knows!!!
The papers signed....what exactly are they? Is it like when I got served from the sheriff? Just the initial papers?
I am ignorant in this divorce stuff even if I am well into it myself!!! As far as I'm concerned, I would just asoon stay that way too!!!!
I'm right there with ya, buddie!!!!
HUGS,
Sheba

Thanks all for your support!
My FIL is always thast way so it isn't that big a deal, he's just kinda outta it, liek his daughter!
Sheba,
The "papers" are our divorce agreement. Basically what we have agreed to do with our assets and liablities and what we are doing about child support(I' getting), alimony(no one's getting) and custody(shared parenting with me as residential parent) and visitation(she only asked for the minimum and that's what I gave her(1/week and every other weekend.)
They put all this in legalese and we sign it. The lawyer sends it to the Domestic Relations Court and in 30-90 days we have a hearing before a judge and he asks if we agree to the stipulations, and if we do, we are divorced. I guess it takes about 15 mins.
Hard to believe 16 yrs of marriage ends with a couple sheets of paper and 15 min before a judge!
